Great to hear the classic Alfasound sound again. What strikes me is how naff and sentimental lots of the lyrics are – loads of guff about “being with special friends” – but the tracks and arrangements were often great.

After all, as a young would-be Radio presenter I had serveral Alfasound cuts made, including some Sonotronix!

      Enough nostalgia!

Thanks for putting this together, Mr Barras.

Thanks Mike…the 210 jingle and the Metro “North-East the best place in Britain” are my favourites !

BTW any one know who the lead-singer is on the 210 cut ? I think he sounds like Gilbert O`Sullivan.

Wow! Great montage. What memories – had a right sing along!!

Here are my faves, the 210 cut at the start, the Metro cut at the start, the Hallam 1986 theme, Pennine's typically English summer, TFM, Radio Northampton, the Chiltern cut, Signal… OOOh and the Trent and Invicta songs!! I love the old image songs!

Actually, that 210 cut is SO timeless you could probably get away with using it today. Always a favourite that from when I first heard it.

The Terry Underhill Marcher cut is hilarious too seeing as I work with him!!!

Dave has mentioned that the file addresses are missing an “W” out of WWW. , so when trying to play the files, add the additional “w” in and you'll find they work fine.
