For obvious reasons (the closure of both Essex FM & Invicta FM lately being main reasons) I've been listening to Heart, I like the ID package from IQ Beats, infact I'd probably go so far as to say I like it very much ! We're talking the package currently in use, “Heart Network 2” …
Now, why it's got me thinking is the male solo vocalist who does much of the “this is heart” sings … Listening to the package demo very loud inn the car many times I'm convincing myself that the male vocalist mentioned above sounds a lot like JASON DONOVAN !!! I could be totally mad there, but as he's a jock for them why not slip him in the jingle mix for good measure ? Mot 100% but I downloaded Jason's greatest hits to check & sure enough alot of his vocals match the singer on the Heart package … could it be ?
One convincer for me is what sounds to me like an “aussie” sing of the word “Heart” in a kind of “g'day mate” fashion, I dunno perhaps I am mad lols, any one any thoughts ?
June 30, 2009 at 11:51 am #68090nickpledgeWell Jason had his own (or probably still does) on Heart, so i wouldn't be surprised if it is him doing the voice overs.
*this is Nick!!!*

As I said fetch the white coats perhaps The vocalist just has very similar tone to J.D in many of his songs
June 30, 2009 at 12:05 pm #68092OffshoreScary thought that Scott-from-neighbours would infiltrate IQbeats as well. bad enough him having a show in the first place. Don't quite think he'd have been flown to West Coast USA for a jingle cameo. But ST, it makes you think, doesn't it…
June 30, 2009 at 12:20 pm #68093simon_t123MemberAuthorLols, certainly does make you think Offshore ! I mean I dunno, it would make a nice bit of jingle trivia The most recent IQ Beats top-up for Heart is the “spiced girl” cut (or whatever it's called) thats for Emma Bunton's show & thats musically based aroud … The Spice Girls or so they say … Certainly needs more listening I think (any excuse to give the mrs when it comes to jingle listening, and even she likes Jason Donovan lols !!!)
June 30, 2009 at 5:10 pm #68097PaulThe singer on the Heart Network 2 package goes by Mr A.

January 31, 2011 at 12:35 am #77464simon_t123MemberAuthorOn a 'Heart' note, in Jan' 2011 it sounds like Network programmes on the station are using a number of cuts now re-sung in the “This is Heart” style but which originally came from an earlier IQ Beats package sung for “London's Heart 106.2” … Just a hearing 'observation'
March 27, 2012 at 9:55 am #83051simon_t123MemberAuthorto ‘bump’ this thread I’m hearing potentially new cuts sung as “this is Heart” (sung just once) on both network and local programming, the ramp beds in use I’ve not heard before, although the vocals are similar to what’s already been used so unsure if their prod people have been doing some ‘DIY’ there, in any case a refreshed sound & possibly now the brand is established there’s no need to sing the name twice !?
March 27, 2012 at 10:13 am #83054mbMemberI can’t bring myself to listen to Heart but I think that the London’s Heart sings have gone hence only one new set so they did the double sing for UK and Londons heart for London now they just use the one.
March 27, 2012 at 3:31 pm #83058simon_t123MemberAuthormakes sense to me MB thanks for the audio posting here guys, listening very carefully to 2 of those cuts they are re-instrumentations or Heart Network 2 cuts, bit like a lite mix of each, there’s a Heart Network 1 cut there too I think, and possibly a reworked 106.2 cut … no faults with these for me, some new cuts in there as well, so it looks like they are being both productive and a little thrifty at Leicester Square
