I’ve asked a few directly but sadly none of your suggestions have panned out. Does anyone still do Gwinsound re-sings? As I’m asking, for that matter Otis Connor or even Tanner?

We supply a selection of Gwinsound cuts with sonovox, but not sung vocals I’m afraid. However, they’ve proven to be very popular recently.

If you’re interested, have a look at our website: https://sonojingles.com

In terms of Tanner re-sings, the William B. Tanner Company (formerly known as “Pepper & Tanner” and before that, “Pepper Sound Studios”) was sold to Media General Inc in 1982, who later divested the business to TM Productions in 1988 when Media General’s operations in Memphis were shut down and the master backing tracks and sound libraries were boxed up and shipped to Dallas.

JonesTM (now TM Studios) placed these reels in the custody of Media Preservation Foundation, though the copyrights were retained by JonesTM.

Sadly all of the reference reels for the syndicated ID Jingles and customised production libraries/commercials were skipped in Memphis.

I know people in the past (myself included) have had Tanner resings through TM’s iJingles service, but I’m not sure if this is still the case today.

So long story short, you need to speak to TM Studios about Tanner resings.

During the first resurrection of iJingles this past September, I asked about the Thunder (Tanner) WLS package. I was told it was not digitized in their system and was therefore unavailable. Whether that applies to other packages and/or will change in the future, I can’t say.

First, the super 70’s cuts were ‘super’! great to hear these tracks again.
As for Gwin, Ben Freedman did resings for all the Gwin stuff, and a lot of the Peppers too. Ben died, but his boy, Ben Jr. and his wife Noreen, still hold the rights. do a google search, Im sure you will have success. if it is the backing tracks? message me offline

If anyone evert purchased Ben (Freedman)’s “Instant Radio Station” CD set–they included many Gwinsound Backing Tracks, as well.

very true, and Ben actually gave away his IRS disc with every order, no matter the size, he made. A most generous and enjoyable fellow

Thanks to one and all for the suggestions. Actually, it was sonojingles and the jinglesamplers re-issue of the Gwin tracks that got me thinking in this direction.

I must have received 8 CDs from Ben- in addition to the “I-R-S” ..:)

Sean, those Thunder Productions cuts sound wonderful. Great adaptations, you’ve got enough jingles to last a lifetime! Can I sit in while you’re on vacation? Cheers, Dave Sharp

Ben was so generous, he never bothered sending us the bill for a small but excelent sonovox bundle via him and Ken J forme, a fellow collector, and my daughter’s Happy 18th Birthday sono & shout!

If you have the tracks, maybe you could ask one of the Dallas jingle companies to do an acapella that just happens to fit over the track? Like what WLS had JAM do with their old Thunder Big 89 countdown jingle.

Illegal and well, just think about what you wrote mjb1124!

Do you think jingle companies are just waiting for clients to ask for acas that match tracks. Wake up or grow up. That’s idiotic.

When I was at JAM, I remember a client said on the phone and I quote: “the singers are just stting in the lunchroom, have them go down the hall to the studio and sing this, how hard can it be?”.

                                      HAHAHHAAA!!!

                                        It’s just jingles.

Sorry, I wasn’t trying to insult anyone or be controversial. I just thought *maybe* it was a possibility for those who purchased the “Trak-Pak Vol. 2” with the Gwinsound cuts from JingleSamplers.com. That collection’s page has the following quote: “Add your own voiceovers and use them for imaging beds, or mix-in shouts or same-key acapellas to create new jingles for your station or show.” So it didn’t seem like *too* much of a stretch for me. But if the Dallas companies are not able or willing to do that, so be it. It was just a harmless thought.

Needless to say probably, but Sonojingles is now offering sung jingles to Gwinsound tracks. But I guess you have already found out.
