I was one of the 1st to congratulate Chris on what a great job he did with The TM Century “The Bee” Jingle package
What I can’t understand is this:
I have been listening to the station on line for the last 2 hours and only heard a single cut!
Between Records and out of breaks it the same old
Liners and Sweeper after Sweeper over and over again (Sorry To Chris if you was involved with them) but I would consider the imaging to be poorest I have heard in years 👿
With The Bee PD saying on the Demo the Jingles are F*****G Great!
You’ve Got Full Themes / Slogan Jingles and Shotgun Mixes
In the words of one of your Sweepers “Isn’t Time to be Different “
Why don’t you F******G Make use of The Jingles!
😡
February 18, 2006 at 8:27 pm #25649JingleMad2005I’ve noticed that, and for a package of that quality I think they should express it more than they currently do.

Over the last few weeks I have been listening on line to all the stations that have just got a new image package (today it was the turn of 97.3 the coast and WNIC they know how to use the jingles to best effect) as for the bee
Simon Brierley spends thousands on an excellent TM Package!
But would rather image the station with poor quality sweepers and liners that sound they cost about a fiver and were thrown together in five minutesWhy not spend some time listening to some US radio stations to see how imaging should be done, How about using some jingles between the records, what about using some of the beds that come with the package, do some research go out on the street and ask 100 people can they sing the Bee Logo
From what I have heard, he would be very disappointed with the results

February 20, 2006 at 7:07 pm #25656JingleMadMemberMaybe the group (ok they are on their own for now but a group is part of it)dont like sung jingles and that sweeepers mix better with the music .
I must say I think the sung jingles are ok ,not my style of a Tm package but bettter than bespoke….But yes the voice overs sound sad, he is the voice of doom, that cant sell a station to lsteners….
Bring back the usa voice from the RSL days ….they worked well

February 20, 2006 at 7:27 pm #25659UKJinglesMemberMy God…..is there No truly Independent Local Radio Stations left in this country?
Here’s a funny story..but don’t tell anyone…….
Reading had a great Radio Station start almost 3 years ago with great Jingles from Bespoke…..I even got one of their stickers on my van!
In the last 6 months or so it has deteriorated to such an extent that they now have awful liners, all the good presenters have left and they are almost bankrupt!
I’ve been told no-one wants to buy them and whats worst I can’t get the bleedin’ sticker off of my windscreen!February 20, 2006 at 7:27 pm #27153UKJinglesMemberMy God…..is there No truly Independent Local Radio Stations left in this country?

In every other show the policy is simply jingles out of breaks and sweepers/stagers inbetween songs. Listen at any other time and you’ll hear at least 3 jingles per hour, plus news / weather / TOH and if you listen to my late show you’ll hear me do a talk up at least once an hour on a ramp. During peak you’ve got travel and headlines so you can hear 8 or 9 an hour – which I’d say is making good use of a fantastic package.
You just heard a specialist show without many jingles and started a thread on the back of it…

The Point is if you are going to image a station then it should not matter if it’s a specialist show or not
Take Heat106.2 in London they have specialist shows “Time Tunnel” Club Classics” But they still use Jingles to give the station the Overall Sound
As previously posted why not make use of the beds that come with the package ?
Or why not use one of the shotgun mixes that come with the package instead of another sad Liner
As for the choice of the Voice Over Guy (Dr Death)

I am sure as you are involved in production yourself you would agree that he is hardly the best choice to image a station

February 27, 2006 at 10:24 pm #25664martinlesterMemberAuthorJust to add I have just had a listern to Roy’s Show
Very Enjoyable and unlike some of the other shows good to hear some of the ramp jingle out of the news and a shotgun between a record instead of “Dr Death” Voice over
Good Job

February 28, 2006 at 11:40 am #25665ah-mediaMemberI was listening to SOJO on Sunday morning and although it was automated, every other (at most) jingle was one of the Reelworld cuts.
It sounded so good on-air with the fast paced jingles…
Made me almost tempted to move to the states
