I couldn’t snap my fingers that fast even if I practised all day.
November 7, 2015 at 10:09 am #98883LenGroatWith that great old jingle + the superb custom acap you should get a RADIO show!
November 7, 2015 at 12:09 pm #98884ratnobMemberAuthorThought you might like to listen to the shimmering vocals in more depth, so here are three of the mixes:
1: With chimes
2: Just vocals/no effects
3: ‘The hunky one’ with its long final noteBreathtaking.
November 7, 2015 at 2:07 pm #98885IainJohnstonVERY impressed, Geoff!
1) The original WCAU-FM package was a very “refreshing” approach to “oldies” for its time, yet “contemporary”
– so good it was rolled out “backwards” to the bigger CBS FM “new” oldies stations in New York etc. And spot-on vocals!2) A JAM cut /acapella with a really good BASS vocal in the harmonies – something too few stations “want” / producers “offer” these days
– what a “grown-up” vocal sound – excellent!:^)
November 7, 2015 at 2:25 pm #98886michiMemberBeing formerly from Los Angeles and for awhile a loyal K-Earth 101 listener, I have always had a love for the CAU Grid (aka “Gold Mine”) package. That was a good resing of it.
November 7, 2015 at 3:52 pm #98889IainJohnstonAny excuse for some audio – even if I’ve “re-packaged” it just a little from its last time out… :^)
https://soundcloud.com/allthebestjingles/ij-wcau-pams-grid-aka_goldmineGeoff’s cut is about 2/3rd along.
November 7, 2015 at 4:55 pm #98890IanFWell done Geoff. Lovely jingles there and, as Iain has stated, cracking bass on the accapella. I was beggining to think the bass sound at JAM was slipping and not as strong as it was with Jim Clancy. However, Jeff Buckley proving he can do the biz when needed so well done to all
November 7, 2015 at 5:56 pm #98891RobinBlamiresJeff Buckley? Has he suddenly emerged from the dead? Voice is a bit low for bass, mind.
November 7, 2015 at 6:34 pm #98892PKMemberI couldn’t snap my fingers that fast even if I practised all day.
Bahhh!!! You’re slacking Sean! Even I can click my fingers that fast even though I’ve got arthritis in some of them lol!
Love the jingles Geoff, great slick harmonies. Especially love the acpaella ending of the CAU Cut 4 Goldmine jingle!

Jeff Oxley, not Buckley. My mistake! I’m sure it’s Jeff doing the bass now

November 9, 2015 at 8:54 pm #98909radio_blokeMemberCongratulations Geoff!
Wow!
Had a quick listen the day they were posted (first thought another set of irritatingly good JAM Geffy B jingles)
Now had a chance to really listen.. double wow!
The acappella is everything you would want and expect from JAM.For me the interesting bit was the PAM’s cut (I confess it was not a familiar cut to me) it’s a gamble, do you have a re-sing of the same old cuts that have been sung hundreds of times? or go left at the traffic lights.
IMHO This was a really nice choice. Even more interesting is the fact that the legendry Dallas thick harmony is not there, in fact the vocal chart only seems to get busy on the word Barton.Nice job!
November 10, 2015 at 4:43 pm #98917ratnobMemberAuthorCongratulations Geoff!
Nice job! Many thanks for your very kind message.
Incidentally, I only really knew the WCAU-fm cut from the PAMS 70s sampler:
Cut 7 on the list: http://www.pams.com/samcon.html#sampler3
Audio around 1:04: http://www.pams.com/audio/sampler3.mp3
