firstly, remember the overnights when there was no music just a bleep every so many seconds , then an IBA announcement , here's one for radio victory recorded in the 1980's , i believe the person voicing it was the then head of programmes paul brown of crca fame .

and I think also Caroline Marshal did the overnight announcement over the same bed – although I could be wrong… being half awake when hearing it!
