They're good cuts, although they've tried to break the record for how many times you can sing “Essex” in a jingle. (Radio made in Essex, for Essex, mmm Essex, Essex FM.)

Good point. “Radio made in Bristol, for Essex and Bristol and Cambridge and Peterborough and Luton and Bedford and lots of other places, mmmm Essex, Essex FM” (Actually, Essex FM are one of the very few GCap stations who don't syndicate Late Night Love; they have their own version.)

MemberLiving here where it's made, I know that Essex FM & It's Classic Gold operation's studios are classed as a network centre. I believe cashcall is presented by James Bassam some nights & he did a network show a couple of years ago. We do have higher hours than many GCap stations. There is a montage of Essex FM stuff from on-air recordings made recently & features as part of Paul McGrath's podcast thingy. He showcases a selection there.

MemberI'm also from where its made or proports to be.
Essex FM although it does not carry late night love with the dreadful GT carries a lot of Network programming and lost a lot of popular shows under GWR /GCap. Calling it a network centre allowed Classic Gold to get round the requirements as network programming that came from the studios ( Paul Burnett ) was allowed to count as “local” output. Essex FM is I'm afraid a former shadow of its once great self. I'll never be convinced that Gcap is anything other than a disappointment and a blot on the history of UK commercial radio.
You've gone and got me all upset now..but look at the trail of destruction behind them…BRMB, Beacon, Mercia, Trent….Capital…..February 19, 2007 at 8:16 am #29027simon_t123
MemberEssex FM still has 24 hr operation @ the weekend which is good, I think an hour of Martin & Sue is voicetracked in the morning, with only travel Dom linking live … We also still have our late night Essex show instead of late night love. I think when they first took over they tried to steam-roller in with networking. As for Classic Gold here in Essex David Bakers gone & a female has taken over, we've finally lost our Breeze tag too. I've not tuned into 1359/1431 for ages !
Actually I think I'm getting ever older cos I only seem to listen in the car to Jingles, a home made mp3 CD & BBC Essex !
