Hello good people. !sad Been to heaven and back and still have had no luck. Tyring to get hold of a jingles record (maybe it's been put on cd lately too). It's an EAP production titled 100 Discoteque Jingles Vol. 1, produced in 1976, production number EAP 1001 SLP. The only one that I have come close is the volume 2 produced in 1977. The producer was Ray Andersen. It had some massive deep voice overs reminiscent of the late great Bill Mitchell (although they don't credit him on the sleeve). Anybody who can assist PLEEEEASE!!!!
January 10, 2007 at 11:46 pm #28426DavidHemsleyI have it – but nothing to play it on.
It was the first jingle item i ever bought or indeed had – back in 1976

Rob T.January 11, 2007 at 9:14 am #28431gmfm2001Oh thanks Rob. U r a lifesaver. That was my first jingle package too and I still value what was on it. I think some of the work there is timeless. I got personal idents from Bill Mitchell so I could tie that up with what is on the classic album.
Now here is the tricky part, I'm all the way in South Africa!!! Postage might be a bit more expensive than posting within Europe. Will that be a problem? Mp3's would be an alternative but seeing you got nowhere to play it on………….
Here is my postal address though: GEORGE MUNETSI BIZA, KAYA FM, P.O. BOX 434, NEWTOWN, 2113, JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA.
Let me know the best way forward.
Thanks again Rob.

Similar to me David, I bought that LP record too and the “10 years of offshore radio” – can`t recall which one I bought first though…still got them in good condition.
Did you buy the EAP singles ? – I`ve still got them also , the vinyl label is bright yellow and features some dodgy edits of PAMs tracks.

January 14, 2007 at 10:31 am #28484DavidHemsleyah yes David – the good old Jumbo record label!
January 14, 2007 at 11:30 am #28486johnnygI think the first Jumbo record I bought was the double EP “100 Offshore Jingles” – green label on that one. I have some other Jumbo LPs too, like the RNI story, etc. All still in excellent condition, in fact still have the EP in the cardboard envelope it came in!
January 15, 2007 at 8:42 am #28505gmfm2001Only have one Jumbo jingles LP that I bought in he eraly 80's on one of my two ever visits to the UK. It was titled 250 Disco Jingles. Bright red cover. It's not usable anymore and I would love to replace it. I see they have it (and many other packes) on sale on this webpage http://www.radiofab.com/

What kind of stuff was on volume 2 of EAP`s 100 Discotheque Jingles ? – I don`t have Volume 2 and just wondered whether it featured any “sung jingles” and if volume 2 credited Bill Mitchell or not ?
Furthermore, on the LP cover of volume 1 there is no mention of Bill Mitchell, despite the voice sounding remarkably like Bill Mitchell – the credits go to these people:
Sonovox Voice: Ray Anderson
Orchestrations: Ian Hayter
Music: Alan Neale band
Composer Ian Hayter
Post Production: Ray Anderson
Cover Design: Dudley Davies
Cover Illustration: Paul McClaren disc and light showDavid Barras

Yes…Most definately!
Credit where credit due…..EAP did do the best Bill Mitchell's going!
If my memory serves me right Volume 2 contained more sonovox and poorly sang jingles (not as good as volume 1)
I think I have a warped copy of the LP up in the loft!January 16, 2007 at 1:54 pm #28531gmfm2001Pete Wilson wrote;

I think I have a warped copy of the LP up in the loft!Hi Pete,
I agree with you, Vol 1 was most definately better than Vol 2 (you would think things are supposed to improve as one goes to the next release). Some might be tired of this question by now but I have still not gotten any answers to the question “How come Bill was not credited on the sleeve of that LP?”January 16, 2007 at 2:02 pm #28532gmfm2001Rob T. said …

Hi Rob,
What I have realised is that the packages you refer to, although coming from EAP are actually different to the LP packages. So among the EAP packages you got, the cd Vols. 1 and 2 are completely different from the LP Vols. 1 and 2. Because of that 'confusion', I nearly odered the wrong stuff from what I was really looking for.
January 16, 2007 at 4:35 pm #28535gmfm2001Hi Rob T.
GMFM 2001 earlier responded to Rob T as……”Because of that 'confusion', I nearly odered the wrong stuff from what I was really looking for.”
Please note that I meant the confusion caused by EAP.
January 16, 2007 at 4:38 pm #28536DavidHemsleyI really need to buy a record player!
Would lve to hear tracks 1 and 2 of side 1 again – brill brass tracks with full stereo seperation – fantastic.
January 16, 2007 at 4:39 pm #28537DavidHemsleyooops thats should have been ytrack 1 side 1: show starter and track 1 side 2: Music Pad

January 16, 2007 at 4:41 pm #28538DavidHemsleyoh yes – btw – play track 99 Dib-de-Dub backwards and you'll hear Bill Mitchel asking for something!

David,
just digitized that LP for “gmfm 2001”, the first cut is a little bit scratched but still listenable and overall, it`s good quality audio. Drop me an email and I`ll get it to you.
