Hello
I did put a piece up on facebook about the time of his funeral.
I have today been notified of my sucessful entry in this years Great North Run.The end of the run ends up in Davids neck of the woods and he made sure he was nowhere about on that weekend.
He was only a few months older than myself which made it a bigger shock when the news came through.Thank you for all that you’ve done (and that Metro FM teaser a few years back).RIP.
January 12, 2013 at 8:17 pm #88147jc_djmacGeeze I still have a copy of the jingle list of his jingles he has for N2Effect, and I still have it to this day. I was supposed to get an off-air recording of the Kiss/Mix Kansas City Package resing for 97ZOK from n2effect that he has in his collection, as well as a resing of the N2Star 94 package for WNTQ Q108, but now that he is gone forever, I’ll never get them. aw well. he was a pleasure to keep in contact with. even though he was a Jam fan, he still helped me out in providing me a list of some jingles he had in his collection from N2Effect. The last time I herd from him was wen I posted the seattle and dallas montage me and Tyrone put together showcaseing some amazing jingles from both reelworld and N2Effect. I actually looked through my CD collection, and I have a collection of every Jam demos that were ever produced for stations such as Z100, WPLJ, WWFS, WDRQ, WCBS-FM, and KFKF, Barras, you will be missed. R.I.P.
February 7, 2013 at 3:55 am #88587BearI’ve not been on jinglemad recently. I’ve just read the news about David. I am greatly saddened. David was truly one of the nice guys of the world. I’m glad to have traded a few times with David. I have only the smallest of collections compared to him, but fortunately I was able to come across a few items he was interested in. And he certainly overcompensated me in return. I enjoyed our email exchanges. I will read all those messages again now. My heart is heavy with this news. May God bless David and his family.
February 7, 2013 at 4:47 am #88588BearI just read through all my email exchanges with David. We talked more about family and things that were going on in our lives than we did jingles actually. Now, I’m even more sad. I discovered an Aircheck that David sent me and I enjoyed listening to it again. If there’s interest, I can post the file. I’m not sure if David may have posted airchecks of himself on jinglemad in the past. If so, this may already have been posted. David, I will miss you.
February 18, 2013 at 6:16 pm #88780AnonymousI was sorry to learn of David’s death, he lived two miles from me as the crow flies. I joined JM a few years ago and have had to re-register as I forgot my user name and password. It was by accident that I learned that David came from South Shields and although we emailed a few times we never met, now he’s no longer with us, I guess we never will.
I send my belated condolences to his wife and family and I’m sure the sound of jingles in the Barrass home will be sadly missed.
Thanks David for the countless hours you brought to JM and its members. You’ll be sadly missed.
Gary aka Anthony.
