Cheers for all the examples guys seems plenty off stations stuck with the “…..Music Machine” lyric. The odd one such as “The best hits come here to play” and “Summertime In…” are quite unique though.
I’m still leaning towards the “The Manchester Music Machine” lyrics, just thought they might be more suited to a station jingle rather than a personal cut??
Any new ideas, particularly those that include “Manchester” or “North West” that would fit would still be gratefully received.

You can never be too ambitious!
Seriously though, Key 103 wouldn’t use that strapline nowadays so I would go ahead!

September 15, 2005 at 6:08 pm #25140MartinSGood choice for a TM Century cut Rob! I have fond memories of this one from Radio Aire FM, Leeds (as mentioned above by Mark H) where it was used in various guises during 1994 and 1995.
Thanks guys for all the montages and alternate examples above – I hadn’t realised how popular this cut has been over the years.
In terms of having it done as a personal cut I would definitely make the most of the available lyric space and have it customised right from the beginning.
Personally I would probably go for something like……
“The Top Ten… at Ten….. The Northwest’s favourite hits.… with Martin S…”
There are plenty of examples of the “eurrh erhh eurhh erhh” beginning that you could splice on to create that version for yourself – e.g. the Y95 example from the demo itself! No clue how to represent that bit… to be honest I always thought it would sound funny on a French station, given the translation of how it sounds!
Something like the example above would also provide a decent donut cut as one of the mix outs.
Anyway , good luck with your choice. Jingles with geographical references, especially “Manchester” , “The North West” and “Yorkshire” always sound great!
Whilst on the subject of Dallas Power cut 10, here’s the history of how radio Radio Aire user different main edits…
Radio Aire FM (original: July 1994 – Spring 1995)
“….. Yorkshire’s Best Music Mix…. Radio Aire FM”96.3 Radio Aire FM (Spring/Summer 1995)
“….. Yorkshire’sBestMusicMix (middle shout from New PLJ cut 7)…nnn96.3 (JJ Mackay v/o) Radio Aire FM”.96.3 Aire FM )Late Summer 1995 – temporary measure before the Mezzo Forte Music Power package came on air)
“….nnn96.3 (JJ Mackay v/o) <0.5ish secs chopped out to get rid of the“Radio” sing> Aire FM”Just show’s how much fun you could have with this as a personal cut.

Can imagine you lyric choice fitting perfectly Martin!
Thanks again for all the examples posted, they’ve been a great help. I didn’t realise just how popular this cut is!

September 16, 2005 at 6:11 pm #25142SpoonsWorth mentioning the Red Dragon FM resings:
http://www.unclespoons.btinternet.co.uk/RedDragonDallasPower.mp3
And the Horizon Radio resings from 1989. You can even sing along to the track.

I LOVED the Horizon package from 89. In fact, it’s a holy grail. If anyone’s got a perfect copy of the full package, you’d make someone (lil me!) V happy!
