If anyone in USA can record his first show , would be great as despite what he said on Jon’s show last week
Everything is blocked in the UK
You can’t say to Google or Alexa
Play ‘77 WABC’ as the stream is blocked same as Tune in – Blocked in the UK

So if anyone can record his first show

      Thanks in advance

      Martin

According to Brucie, the show will be RE-Played Monday @ 12 Noon on WABC!

Yep, it will be replayed at 12 noon tomorrow (7th September), so that’s 17:00 here in the UK.

Not sure about Google or Alexa smart speakers, but you can listen to WABC (or any US radio station in fact) on a PC, laptop etc, but you will just need to use a VPN.

If you are using Google Chrome, I recommend adding the “Hola Free VPN Proxy Unblocker” extension – really easy to use.

Thanks, have added that Chrome extension to have a play.

I can recommend https://windscribe.com/ as well. Free 15GB per month if you post one tweet, and you can buy another 10GB for $1 per month for one location (USA). I did have a 20 months for $20 deal, but that’s expired and I just use the free allowance atm, tbh. App works on the phone, and it doesn’t feel ‘dodgy’ like some VPNs. apkmirror lets you sideload the iHeart and Radio.com apps on Android – which gives you most of the USA in a Bauer/Global kind of way.

Intrigued that the banner shows the show being relayed (?) on 107.1 FM – WXPK The Peak (Alt Rock).
Possible way around directly using a VPN to be explored?

Wrong 107.1. WABC is simulcasted full-time on 107.1 WLIR-FM in Hampton Bays, NY. That’s out on Long Island.

In terms of the 107.1 frequency, billionaire John Catsimatidis (Red Apple Group, Inc) and owner of WABC 770 AM, acquired the eastern Long Island station WLIR 107.1 FM in July this year in order to simulcast WABC.

EASTERN Long island! To relay a New York City AMer…107.1 New York City is what one would imply from the banner.

Unusual “RIM-SHOT” (unlikely) surely unhearable in NYC? Especially with WXPK.
Still, 13,000 people in a “hamlet” is a start for an FM relay/”translator”/LMA/whatever in a radio world
of Long Island etc where all sorts of jiggery-pokery has been going on for years judging by some forums…?

                      Hi Mark

OK Thanks but what is best way to record the stream of Chrome ?

                      Regards

                      Martin

Just use whatever recording software you have got installed using the “stereo mix” recording facility on your sound card. I use Adobe Audition, but any recording software would work OK.

Just a heads-up that if you install the Hola VPN Chrome extension it could stop your Internet working on any work PC that you log into Google with, using the same account. Caught me out this morning. Intranet was OK, but it kills Internet on a corporate network. Sorted by removing the extension.

While we’re talking VPNs, another good free VPN is ProtonVPN. It’s provided by the same company as ProtonMail. Privacy policy looks solid, and even the free tier seems to be reasonably fast.

I like the Four Seasons’ Cousin Brucie theme – not heard that before.

Enabled the VPN on my Norton (have used Norton Utilities in various forms for near on 30 years, privately and professionally !!!)
but no joy despite fiddling with things – seems to “cover” for the UK but not “allow” for TuneIn-overseas/stations-in-USA.

                                        Any hints?

…Then you must not have heard my show on Rewound the day I interviewed Bruce. I started with the Four Seasons theme, and asked him about it later.

You can download an app called Simple Radio and all works fine !
