April 2, 2007 at 6:08 am #29546DevawebMemberCheshire FM is Wise Buddah – I've only heard one cut so far, but it was a great-sounding resing of Contemporary Cuts. Sweepers are voiced by Andrew White, mixed (I believe) by Dan Harper.
Meanwhile, those with sharp ears in Wolverhampton wll notice that 101.8 WCR FM are airing a very large resing of The Bee.
April 2, 2007 at 11:20 am #29550IainJohnstonMemberLeith FM in Edinburgh loud & clear here just “over
the water” but haven't had a good listen to their jingles yet – what I've heard so far sounds like something out of the old “B*stard Brothers” pisstakes as they sound desperately cheap – but thats probably unfair!Anyway – how do “Community” stations on wafer-thin budgets afford “real, sung professional” jingles when their BIGGER corporate brothers plead poverty???
Also, heard snatches of several of the new community stations in Glasgow while
over in “Weegieland” the other night – heard what vuagely (sp?) might have been
an acapella on Awaz-FM; but how does Glasgow have so many community stations!?!April 2, 2007 at 3:16 pm #29551JingleMadMemberAuthorMaybe these community stations want to sell an image to the listener by getting “good” jingles.. Listeners do sing along with jingles too…then you know the message has hit home

No-one can sing-along to a sweeper!
April 4, 2007 at 9:44 pm #29571SkudberAhhhh, budgets may be low but the pressure to make a profit is non-existant. That coupled with the fact that jingles are often priced on TSA means they're not necessarily unaffordable.
