The ad agency during that O-R-E-O campaign was FCB/New York. I believe Jake Holmes was the writer and the original singer.
If I were you, I wouldn’t gamble with an unauthorized broadcasts of a union spot. You probably don’t want to be dealing with the wrath and deep pockets of Kraft-FCB-AFTRA-SAG-AFM in the unfortunate event that it ends up in the station log or any other monitoring service that gets reported to anyone of importance. You (and your station) may not get off with a simple cease-and-desist order. FYI.

Altogether now…
“Do you know exactly how to eat an Oreo?….” I’m sure Bruce knows the rest
BTW,the old 70’s commercial can be found on this compilation…
However,.as Bruce says, the commercial is copyrighted and Kraft (the makers of Oreo Cookies) would not be the kind of person I’d like to deal with if they hit you with a lawsuit….they’re only the world’s 2nd biggest food and beverage company…
Best thing is to check with their Media team to gain clearance first.

Thanks for looking out for me guys, But it’s a station sponsored promotion is assosiation with Nabisco. We’re running a contest in conjunction with the national contest to look for the next new Oreo Jingle. The local agency is just VERY SLOW with getting me audio. I am authorized to use it

They finally got back to me and said NOT to use a Jingle because they didn’t want to add another jingle to people’s heads. ( For those not familiar the current contest is to choose your NEW favorite Oreo jingle from the finalists on the website)
BUT THANK YOU TO EVERYBODY ANYWAY!
How do I eat an Oreo?— I like ’em crushed in ice cream, actually.

Interesting thread.
I went to oreo.com to check out the 5 finalist’s videos of the latest Oreo jingle. I’m torn between A Capella Gold – the female barbershop quartet, and The Chris Allen Band who did a catchy Reggae version. My favorite Oreo Jingle of all time would be the “Cause a Kid’ll eat the middle of an Oreo first…” jingle from the 70s.

…and as for me, I dunk it in milk and hold it until almost mushy, then pop it whole into my mouth

I`m an Oreo virgin so be gentle please…I would go for the A Capella Gold version, not often you hear a female barbershop quartet.
BTW I think it`s great stuff that the Americans have a jingle competition (with video) on-line…cool !
