Amazing stuff! and a lot of that “percussion moog” too.

Best I've ever heard is when Heller use(d) it for helicopter traffic report sounders/beds, using
the noise generator circuits to simulate …er… helicopters! (someone somewhere must still
have a copy of one of those – e.g. KEX in Portland ring a bell with any “mature” collectors?)

Notice that the last WNBC jingle is in *7/4* time. Dick Hamilton, who wrote and arranged those jingles (as well as programming and playing the Moog on them), was either a musical and technical genius, or completely insane.

Jon Wolfert considers Dick's stuff for Heller to be some of his favorite jingles.

As noted above by Jeff Gray, Dick Hamilton was the creative genius behind the Heller jingles. When Heller moved to Spain, FairWest was tapped to continue the established “sound” created by Hamilton for Heller (and utilizing the Ron Hicklin Singers). TM Productions also utilized Hamilton for some of their best selling packages including Hot Hits, Synergy and The YOU Campaign. JAM used the Ron Hicklin Singers for various projects/packages, but I've never inquired as to whether those backing tracks were written and produced in Dallas or Los Angeles.

I would love to post the backing tracks for TM Productions' THE ACTUALIZERS (a/k/a Hot Hits) (Hamilton written and produced) here so you can all understand the method of editing a single lengthy track into various cuts that you wouldn't think were sung as part of the same composite cut. (Kind of a GRID that you wouldn't expect)

Since Jeff Gray has referenced Jon Wolfert's love of Dick Hamilton's work above, let me direct you to the description Jon wrote for a WMAL jingle exhibit at another website for a further explanation of the style of the jingles and the financial/budgetary implications of producing ID jingles in Los Angeles.

                          Jon Wolfert's description of WMAL's Heller-Hamilton Music Machine Composite (June 22, 2005)
