I’ve posted the audio before, but thought I’d repost as it’s the 30th anniversary of Roger Scott and John Sachs first splitting Capital Radio into AM & FM programming.
Does anyone know who made the CFM jingles? (or even have a copy? )
https://soundcloud.com/rak2011/capital-amfm-split-04-05-1986 (there’s a bit of breakup towards the end, but still interesting, hopefully)
Needs playing on stereo headphones, as AM on one side, FM on the other.
May 14, 2016 at 4:14 pm #100065HLC_KillerMemberI thought it was Muff Murphin Music?
May 16, 2016 at 1:04 pm #100081mbMemberhttps://soundcloud.com/michaelboltona/cfm-1 that’s all I have for CFM – I stand to be corrected as I was not in London during this time but between the Standard Sound 1 & 2 packages there were several top up jingles with CFM and the line “playing all over London”
May 16, 2016 at 2:33 pm #100082IainJohnstonA quick trawl around the hard drive provided these (MMI I would presume?)…

May 16, 2016 at 8:36 pm #100087IainJohnstonThanks Michael – I have the 99 cuts or whatever, but must admit only knew it was MMI (some cuts are the same as Clyde) but not where it fitted into the Capital jingle timeline.
I’m still after the MANY elusive Clyde MMI/Standard earlier-1980s customs/packages/cuts that lurk “out there” but either not intact or in doubtful quality/heritage – I thought I’d found a “source” here in Scotland but that has been dry…

Thanks, Michael. I’ve got a similar number of off-air CFM cuts. Do we think they were produced by Muff? They don’t sound like SS to me. Yeah, there were a couple of top-up packages during that period, very nice but the masters have sadly been very elusive.
May 17, 2016 at 1:23 am #100089PKMemberIan, the CFM jingles you posted are definitely Dallas TM vocals over MMI tracks.
At least one of those 95.8 jingles was resung as part of the second Radio Wyvern pack that had the WYVN cuts. Some of these cuts were also resung as Capital Radio as well I think? -
