      Hey Guys…

After more than a year of producing The Jingle Network Podcast (http://www.thejinglenetwork.com) I'd really appreciate you letting me know what you think about it.

Some questions to get the discussion going…
      – Am I featuring too many of the 'mainstream' jingle companies in each podcast?
      – Do you think there's too much talk and not enough jingles?
      – Would you prefer smaller podcasts? Each week? Month? Let me know.
      – Should I drop some of the features i.e. montage of the month, off air imaging as they tend to add to the length?
      – Does it sound too 'produced' and 'clean'?

I'd really like to know am I wasting my time with it. Do you actually listen to it in full after you download it? Do you consider it to be a good way to catch up with the news in the industry?

      Any suggestions/criticisms are welcomed.

      Paul

No I personally Like to hear what the Mainstream Jingle Comanies are up to each month

        – Do you think there's too much talk and not enough jingles?

Talk is Ok sometimes I would like to hear more examples of the Cuts see below

        – Would you prefer smaller podcasts? Each week? Month? Let me know.
Once a Month is OK – What you did a Christmas was great so if you have the time once every 3 months
it would be good to have a podcast with just the jingles

        – Should I drop some of the features i.e. montage of the month, off air imaging as they tend to add to the length? Length is not a problem for me
        – Does it sound too 'produced' and 'clean'?

I think you have done a great Job with the Podcast and its great to see how you have bought this to the next level

        Best Regards

        Martin

My thoughts exactly – I like the mix of information (talk) and examples (jingles). It's a fantastic production and I'd keep it as it is.

                Paul,
Count me as another big fan of the Jingle Network Podcast. I think it deserves to be a primary showcase for jingle and imaging news for jingle fans, radio imagers, and jingle companies.

                – Am I featuring too many of the 'mainstream' jingle companies in each podcast?
                No, I don’t think so.

                – Do you think there's too much talk and not enough jingles?
Of course not. It’s a news show. Not a montage.

                – Would you prefer smaller podcasts? Each week? Month?
I think monthly is great. I always eagerly anticipate the next one. I think around 10 minutes would be perfect. Any news that doesn’t fit can be carried over to the next podcast.

Should I drop some of the features?
The off-airs and the M.o.M.’s are nice but not needed. That material should be left to your sites that cater to those topics.

                – Does it sound too 'produced' and 'clean'?
No way. This podcast is about radio imaging and production. Why wouldn’t you have a well-voiced, well-produced show?

I can’t say enough of how much enjoy and appreciate you efforts.

                -Mike

I love the mixture of info and jingles.
And although I've never said it, thanks for putting it together every month.

Gotta` say it`s a work of bloody art what Paul & Neal produce every month.
How you find the time is beyond me what with Paul`s college work & Neal`s Radio commitments.
It`s time Jinglemad started handing out medals.
Ok maybe a tad OTT but thanks a lot you 2 & keep up the great work.

You're certainly not wasting your time with the podcast Paul, and I always look forward to downloading the latest edition (and listening to it in full) I also think you currently have the right mix of jingles and talk. If you were to drop anything, then perhaps move the montage of the month to the website to bring the running time to around 10-15 minutes.

The mainstream companies are generally what I want to hear about, certainly though expand the companies featured in addition to them. I presume it's all down to the companies which send you their latest work each month.

Too 'produced' and 'clean? Thankfully yes! I can't imagine it any other way.

I'd also keep it monthly. Changing to weekly and I think the quality could perhaps be reduced? and inevitably you'll have weeks when there's nothing to report, so no podcast, and then they appear inconsistent. With one per month you know where you are. Monthly ensures the jingle companies (which I wish more would contribute) have time to send their latest material. Your website enables us to keep track of any braking news between podcasts.

I'll try and have a think of any new ideas to try, but find it hard to fault. Keep it going Paul and Neal!

                        Hi Paul,
I agree, the podcast sounds great as it is. I always grab it every month and enjoy features like the off-air imaging montage.
Thanks, and keep up the great work.

                        Yours Sincerely,
                        Kelly Sapergia

I love it as it is… it downloads automatically thanks to iTunes, and is on in the car that day, and possibly the day after. It also gets a couple of work-outs in the gym.

Paul and Neal do great work – don't stop!

Guys thanks for all the feedback so far. Please do keep the comments coming!

I started this thread yesterday after I received an email from a guy in the jingle biz. He said that David H's 'style, focus, pumping old school radio audio quality' when he did the podcast, doesn't compare to mine. Personally, I always found David to focus on some of the same companies month after month and didn't include half enough audio.

It was after I started this thread I realised that this person has been the first to crisitze the podcast in all the 100's of emails, comments etc that I've gotten in the last year and a half since I've taken over the production. It took me by surprise really!

Thanks for all the comments, it really makes putting the podcast together worth it!
