Some nice memories here. When you say “BBC Radio Two always had the best morning jingles” you're right to use the word “had”. It's a reminder of just how much musicality and creativity we've lost from the station in the past 11 years. Thanks for posting.

So right! Makes you feel a bit sad in a way of what's lost. Is it an age thing?

          Lovely montage Bory.

I agree with you Ratnob, the BBC today including Radio 2, is all about imagery, and it is shown in the use of thier jingles and the sameness of the package that they use on the station. All the jingles sound the same and their seems to be no difference from one DJ/show to another, every jingle just sounds the same without there being anything individual about them.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and kind remarks.

              I tend to agree.
Its like all the shows run to a formula.

I can sort of imagine the producers sitting down at the start of the month, planning that month's programs (talk time, audio time, jingle time, weather and traffic) Putting it into a computer program, and asking the DJ just to cut in with voice now and again. Commercial radio seeems to be the worst for that.

For those in the know, is that how things are done nowadays?

If you cut out the endless 'throwing forward' and competition crap I reckon you could reduce the decent DJ links in an hour to about a minute ! No wonder people like their iPods so much………..
