Having searched for my thread about Los Angeles radio for the past of half an hour, I have concluded that it was lost forever when the site crashed a while back.
Anyway, having returned from LA a few weeks ago it was pity, whilst driving around tuning up and down the dial, to hear that most of the radio there is pants. The only station bearable (mainly because of the imaging!) was KOST. Hearing their new package in FM was an audio treat. So to celebrate over 20 years of JAM jingles on the station, here is a 15 minute montage:

Enjoy !
Cheers, Paul.
PS Be warned that it is a 20MB file.

Love this – ~I'm a real fan of the KOST sound, and hearing such a rich montage is fantastic. Many thanks

Nice montage. I love listening live, as opposed to online, to stations that have gotten custom packages and seeing what they're doing with them.
Hope you had a blast over there. I'm thinking of heading to Boston or New York in January.

Hi Paul,
Have a great time in New York and Boston when you get there (I work for a US company so I am lucky to fly over to the States with work at least a couple of times a year). The pity is that “the sound of JAM is everywhere you go” is sadly not the case now given that even the mighty WCBS-FM in NY has switched to the JACK format with no DJs and a lack of sung jingles.
In short, these great bastions of US radio have mainly resorted to contemparary driven sweeps and electornic effects when it comes to station imaging. A sad state of affiars if you ask me.
Paul.
