So here I am listening to the Big L, Radio London in 2005 – on the web at http://www.bigl.co.uk and on 1395AM (broadcast from Holland). And they’ve got sung jingles! Is this a new resing they’ve had done especially for these broadcasts, or a package they had done a while ago for one of their former reincarnations?
I’m sure you lot will identify it in no time – sounds like a JAM package from 10-15 years ago. (I keep hearing “ninety six point seven, City FM”, which may give you a clue!)

I see on this BigL website you can still buy the Radio Nova jingle collection, some nice JAM jingles on there if you haven`t got a copy………..

Thanks for letting us know that Big L, Radio London are using JAM jingles.
I`ve been listening this afternoon via satellite and heard cuts from JAM`s Z-Force, Turbo Z and Positron, plus lots of PAMS jingles too. Just posted an off-air montage of the Big L Radio London jingles over at “Barras Montages”.

Wish I could pick it up on my Radio when I’m out and about!
Is it me or is there a fault with the audio on the Radio London Web Site
When I click on the Audio Link it opens PowerDVD on my puter!May 20, 2005 at 7:53 pm #24797ratnobMemberQuite an eclectic mix of jingles – some PAMS originals and I’ve just heard a Positron cut. Pity the presentation is quite so naff.

Bob-
I know what you mean. I was the “other” listener this afternoon via the web audio – got a snatch of Mike Read who was a very comfortable listen, but sounded awkward over the Turbo Z weather bed, then he handed over to someone who sounded bored to tears – already forgotten his name. Ray Anderson clearly made the best use of the jingles since he commissioned them!
It’s early days yet for the station and I guess it will get more “fluid” in the presentation as these guys get used to the jingles.
Great work from JAM. Still beats me how they manage to do resings identical to the original with so many years between them.
Web stream could be radically improved.
I wish ’em luck.

May 21, 2005 at 5:10 am #24799ratnobMemberI was thinking that, Sean. It must be to do with Jon W’s obsessive perfectionism – the way he insists on having to match the same singers (where possible) to particular cuts. That’s one of the reasons I love JAM – such attention to detail.

-SeanYou can hear Mike Read and the other bloke (Denis ?) in this off-air montage, along with several of the JAM resings and PAMS jingles.

May 23, 2005 at 9:33 pm #24807thehexSorry for sending everyone to the wrong website! Ooops…
I realised after I posted that it was a mixture of many different packages (most of which have now been identified, thanks). It is odd listening – the presentation has been a bit ropey in places. Still, nice to hear those jingles!
June 8, 2005 at 10:09 am #24858charlie_m0pztAs a potential treat, I’ll see about getting a few cuts off the system and uploaded to here some time soon. As well as the old PAMS cuts, there are about 20 new/re-sings – I swear that one or two are old Radio 1 re-cuts. The Mike Read parody songs are rather good, and there’s a few of those
June 8, 2005 at 12:29 pm #24859BrianOhh go on Charlie my download manager is sitting up and waiting 😳
June 8, 2005 at 10:31 pm #24861charlie_m0pztFirst up, I need to buy myself a USB pendrive – as I’ll be doing some stuff from home for them… I learned today that we’ve had some TM Century cuts done aswell

Any Potential Yet Charlie? 😆
June 13, 2005 at 9:32 pm #24865charlie_m0pztI’ve been asked to ensure that the new 2005 Big L jingles do not appear anywhere, as they are soon to be available as a CD. So until they are available, I won’t be posting them (sorry). I’ve also yet to hear the TM cuts – but again, have to respect Uncle Ray’s wishes, particularly as I’m on the payroll

I certainly hope he has a proper licence to sell them on C D – would make a change if he has!
Hmmm, now then, which Ray Anderson once claimed to have bought all the PAMS copyrights . . . .

I wonder if ANYbody actually purchased any of them?!?! 😆June 14, 2005 at 7:09 am #24869BrianI’m still waiting for the PAMS Radio 2 C D to be issued 😈 😈

Ray Anderson has never had any regards to copyrights only have to look at his C.D’s of Radio 1 material that he has no licence to sell , and going back a few years …..Do you remember the poor quality DJ gimmick cassetts of ripped off PAMS material, as JW knows all about his operation it is strange he would want to work with him.
June 14, 2005 at 10:30 pm #24873charlie_m0pztAccording to the Jingle Ark (i think), isn’t there a paragraph about EAP “claiming to have purchased the PAMS back-catalogue” ? .. and wasn’t it true ? Only last week, Ray was talking about the CDs – and saying that they had the paperwork to prove it.
Not my battle… I’ll just play them on-air

The one’s you are playing “On-Air” Charlie are totally Legal…Purchased through JAM via Steve England…..
BUT..Many years ago Ray (through EAP) was selling PAMS Re-sings (well mainly one series) claiming he had bought the rights to them….
He may of been ripped off and told he now owned them by this shady character in the States but was sold copies of the master tracks!
The EAP singers sounded awful over them (I think they are featured on JingleArk or is it my site?)
Hopefully I will be getting a copy of the Radio London International ones (or some at least) from a reliable source as soon as I do…I will post them! -
