Well, it had to happen one day – This afternoon I popped my jingle commissioning cherry!!
Phoenix FM in Halifax will soon be using resings of Bespoke musics Kingdom FM & Century FM.
This is breaking news here on JM, as Tim won't have received the e-mail before he went home tonight!May 7, 2010 at 10:38 am #73825Good Time OldieGreat choice Gary, just make sure you get plenty of gender variations on the Kingdom FM stuff, you remember what happened to Viking and their all Female cuts lol.
Good luck with it, sure Tim will do you proud.
May 7, 2010 at 4:46 pm #73831GazzaCuts picked, lyrics & 'specifics' sent off for Tim to give the once-over.
Jeez I feel like a small kid waiting for Christmas!May 13, 2010 at 5:49 pm #73918GazzaRecording session today! Sneak peak this weekend anyone?
May 13, 2010 at 11:30 pm #73925Good Time OldieYou bet!, you can count me in for sure.
May 14, 2010 at 10:46 am #73933IainJohnstonMemberBefore the various schoolteacher JM'ers jump in Gary…its “peek”! (a “peak” is a hill, summit, etc!)
Apart from that, considering that Bespoke don't get mentioned all that much at the moment, will be interesting to hear what they do for you, and I hope they give you a good bundle of mixouts!
May 15, 2010 at 8:13 am #73948GazzaThank you for pointing out the error of my ways Iain. I'm placing the blame firmly on a bad day at work for that one – I had a grammar school education you know!
Peek 500 times on it's way to Scotland. They're not going to air for a couple of weeks, but as promised here's the full version medium mixouts of all the vocal cuts.

The original Kingdom logo was sung 'on the down' but, as we all know, finishing 'on the up' sounds a lot better. After talking things over with Tim, and then having to sing down the phone (badly) to somebody I'd only just got aquainted with, we worked out the new Phoenix logo.

In total, 48 mixouts from 5 vocal cuts. Just waiting for the news cuts now.
Tim's a thoroughly nice bloke & I wouldn't hesitate in using Bespoke again.
Any spelling mistakes this time………………..
May 15, 2010 at 10:24 am #73950m_hodgeyMemberVery nice. Thanks for sharing Gary.
May 15, 2010 at 5:16 pm #73954BarrasThanks Gazza, the jingles sound great…thanks for this thread too, interesting to see how things have developed since 6th May.
May 15, 2010 at 5:35 pm #73955IainJohnstonMemberNow don't they just sound GOOD!
And looks like Bespoke have certainly given you your money's worth! We've debated in the past about how “down-notes” on the end of a logo can be quite dull & dreich and rarely work well – and what they've done for you there is so simple and effective and “lifts” the cuts compared with the duller original Kingdom FM logo (and the extra ones they did for the failed Kingdom group station River FM).
Other jingle companies now please take note!
May 15, 2010 at 7:42 pm #73957GazzaThanks for the positive feedback folks – I'm already under pressure to get them loaded into Myriad & on air!
May 15, 2010 at 9:07 pm #73960RjMAlways thought that Kingdom FM is one of the better Bespoke packages, thanks for sharing Pheonix's Gazza.
On the subject of Kingdom's River FM re-sings Wixy mentions. I found it amusing how they altered the sing on the “Fastest Travel” cut from the RP/Queens English “Far-stest” on Kingdom to “Fa-stest” for River. I presume this was intentional.
May 15, 2010 at 9:53 pm #73961IainJohnstonMemberHad never noticed that!
Mind you, couthy Fifers pronounce words a bit differently from the denizens of West Lothian…The real “gag” is actually that the idea was that “Fastest” travel was actually a piss-take on their competitor Forth's travel jingles which were “Fast Travel” – the implication being that Kingdom were QUICKER than Forth at getting any latest updated travel information on-air!
(Sorry Gary – would you like your Thread back now Sir ?!)
May 16, 2010 at 4:28 pm #73966Good Time OldieHey Gary, I like them and I am sure they'll sound great on-air, did you get any male solos too?.
Thanks again for sharing them

Just female vocals for these 5 cuts – by the way, anyone know who she is?
I've already picked the top-ups, but haven't got sphericals any where near big enough to go and ask for more money just yet!
