How’s this for on the ball? 6:55am, 3/4/06… 5 minutes to the launch of the new BBC Radio Manchester. 7am: new package available online at http://www.iqbeats.com.
Featuring the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and a wide range of tracks based on the styles of famous Manchester artistes.
Check it out, especially the stunning top of hour/news idents.
Enjoy!

Just a pity some of the other Big companies aren’t so keen……
I can think of one UK Company that has updated for well over a year now!April 3, 2006 at 9:04 am #27313UKJinglesMemberTop Marks to IQ Beats for updating their site so promptly!

I was secretly hoping these would go on-line,as I’m currently putting the montage together to open the North West Radio Night (as advertised on this site).
This means it will be as up to date as it can be – it also means I can put them alongside the Alfasound Radio Manchester cuts from the as well

April 3, 2006 at 5:44 pm #25822JingleMadMemberDont you think ” man-chester” should be sung as one word …nice package ,bit down beat on the vocals ..but with the royal phil beds … It could have been a steve england uk production rather than going to the usa.. ( not saying steves work is downbeat because i rate his work ) just cant see what they gained…but a nice change to the norm bbc packages

April 3, 2006 at 6:57 pm #25823mbMemberI’ve had some of the Manchester stuff for a week or so and I really liked it when I first heard it. Some of the cuts especially the news have an LBC esq package influence and I’m pleased to say that the vocals on this package are stronger than the Leeds cuts. The orchestra also gives the package more depth and fullness than the electronically created tracks of other packages.
The voices of Trish and Mr queer as folk work well and really give the station a great sound.
Pretty good all round really.April 3, 2006 at 6:57 pm #27317mbMemberI’ve had some of the Manchester stuff for a week or so and I really liked it when I first heard it. Terry Christian made a comment about one of the jingles this morning in relation to having his name sung out loud at 7:15am. Shame non of them have a bit less emphasis on the first ‘e’ would make it sound a bit more Mancunian.
I was never really a fan of the GMR brand. Suprised they didn’t revert back in 2002 for the Commonwealth Games to be honest.
Loved the old Alfasound stuff…. be nice to hear some of the old “Radio Manchester” cuts from the Alfasound Collectors Cassette 10 Bigdave.

April 4, 2006 at 5:27 pm #25825BelloThe epic ‘David Arnold 100+ cuts’ package is back!!!
IQ Beats have done a very good job with the imaging! They sound very good on-air as well. I was also pleasantly surprised that thre were sung cuts as well! Sounding really good!
Seattle has certainly invaded Manchester – the spiritual home of English jingles.

…and is it really as easy as it was a few minutes ago to download & save
these “in the clear” cuts to my PC without even any audio-streaming-
grabber software ???Damn good production though – wish stations in Scotland would put
something as high-quality as this on the airwaves !April 4, 2006 at 8:02 pm #27320IainJohnstonMemberpetewilson wrote: Top Marks to IQ Beats for updating their site so promptly!

I would “grab” them myself, but my soundcard has an annoying high pitch buzz which also gets into the recordings. Or if anyone has these from elsewhere, and high quality, I’m sure theres something we could trade.
PM me for my email addy.
