Agreed. Radiomakers just do their job on intuition, feeling, gut. You instantly recognize a good jingle. At least, I hope so…
It's the same with the Jack-format. Even though anyone with a bit of a musical feel would say the format wasn't really a format and just grew because it offered an alternative, hundreds of radio companies turned oldies stations into Jack. At radio companies guys in suits decide. But they don't understand the core, the DNA of radio anymore.
I can't tell if this is the case at the BBC, and to be honest I can only judge when I hear the new package. Let's hope for the best!
