Likewise!
…and I hope there’s maybe more than say just 1 or 2 of them, it would be a treat if there might possibly be a couple (at least) for each of the 70s, 80s, and 90s decades styles of (well-known to UK listeners, not just anoraks) JAM items.
Fingers proverbially knotted
January 3, 2013 at 9:07 pm #87777LenGroatI think Tony is as excited as us here (on the world’s best jingle site) as he’s Tweeted..
“The first Pick Of The Pops in 2013 on BBC Radio 2 at 1pm this Saturday ( 1973 & 1990 ) and I have one or two ” Special ” new bits for you !!”
Of course JAM were not on Radio 1 in 1973 but I’m sure they will ‘fit’ perfectly!
p.s.
At noon on the same day Andy Siddell plays his new PAMS re-sing at noon on solidgoldgem.am !!

I’ll be recording it (via Freeview) – I hope it’s more than one or two though.
January 5, 2013 at 9:30 am #87822UKJinglesMemberIsn’t this exciting…I haven’t been this excited for years!
January 5, 2013 at 10:21 am #87823IainJohnstonMemberJust as a “warm-up”, for those that may not have heard the existing POTP PAMS re-sings from S2Blue…

January 5, 2013 at 1:09 pm #87829jonnoMember1st jingle just aired
January 5, 2013 at 1:13 pm #87830gameswizardMemberAnd here it is…
January 5, 2013 at 1:18 pm #87831RobinBlamiresIt turns out yes, “Pick Of The Pops” gets the sonovox treatment. I’m sure we’ll get audio posted here shortly.
January 5, 2013 at 1:20 pm #87832jonnoMemberthis post created in error. nothing to see here.. move along please!
January 5, 2013 at 1:23 pm #87833gameswizardMemberJanuary 5, 2013 at 1:30 pm #87834IainJohnstonMemberAw Aye!!!
Its not MOR “Radio Two” JAM as it was – he’s gone straight for the proverbial classic JAM Top 40 stuff! Hooray!
(Been a while since I recorded radio “off-air” with a cassette/radio recorder, and now its a laptop and the online feed! The technology marches on…)

I’m going for a hybrid recording approach … to minidisc from VHF FM!
January 5, 2013 at 1:34 pm #87836RobinBlamiresWow, Fresh KIIS cut one! One of my favourites from JAM. Didn’t expect them to be this superb.
January 5, 2013 at 1:38 pm #87837IainJohnstonMemberJeez! a REAL “shotgun”!!!! into Nights in White Satin…
(think he might dare to give JM or even JMW a namecheck at any stage?
January 5, 2013 at 1:40 pm #87838AndyWMemberLove all the ones I’ve heard so far. I wouldn’t have dreamed I’d hear a Z100 re-sing on Radio 2 till today and they sound brilliant!
January 5, 2013 at 1:42 pm #87839IainJohnstonMemberAnd he’s just introduced “SHOTGUN Wedding”?!? LOL
January 5, 2013 at 1:43 pm #87840gameswizardMemberOne more…
January 5, 2013 at 1:47 pm #87841LenGroatToday :
a. JAM took the JM record for ‘most posts in shortest time’
(11 posts on 1 topic in 31 minutes…)
b. The Wise Buddah ‘blingle’ writers decided to retire!?
c. And somehow….. David Barras MUST have been listening…..
January 5, 2013 at 1:55 pm #87842IainJohnstonMemberIs it me or was “Top 40” music definately a bit more “rocky” and alive-sounding than much of today’s “34-year-old-Debbie music”??? (…and, yes, I do remember all this stuff the first time around!)
January 5, 2013 at 1:58 pm #87843gameswizardMemberAnother… (I’ll try post some more from the 2nd hour later on).
January 5, 2013 at 1:59 pm #87844GrahamCollinsSorry but Little Jimmy Osmond is banned is our household so I’ve had to switch off, new jingles or not !
Half expected ‘Britain’s Number One’ ahead of this……
January 5, 2013 at 2:06 pm #87845RobinBlamiresLet’s not turn this into a Wise Buddah knocking thread. Though the JAM jingles are quite special.
As for knocking Jimmy Osmond I’m all for that…
January 5, 2013 at 2:08 pm #87846RjMThe cuts we’ve heard so far are just perfect! Love them.
January 5, 2013 at 2:41 pm #87851IainJohnstonMemberIf he’s not careful, he’s going to “burn out” that cut!
But at least he understands HOW to use a “donut” -
