May 12, 2020 at 11:52 am #104950JasonRNFWM overtakes Humberside as being the worst news ID of them all. Seriously? Who thought that sounded good?!
May 13, 2020 at 2:51 pm #104952RWVery interesting video of a presentation at Radio Days Ireland 2020 in which Paul Fernley from ReelWorld discusses the evolution of the new jingle package: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENjMRvx7zqw
The presentation also contains a short snippet of the training demo, and reveals right at the end that only Radio London will use voiceovers in place of the vocals – but sung versions have been created in case they change their mind!
May 14, 2020 at 5:30 pm #104957IainJohnstonA quick “refresher” of the package

May 18, 2020 at 7:02 pm #104975GrahamCollinsCambridgeshire has switched over too, so just five on the tired old Mcasso themes now…. I reckon London will be last
May 18, 2020 at 10:25 pm #104977dw1987ukMemberI just had a listen to Cambridgeshire but they seem to still be on the Mcasso themes as of this evening.
PS. Graham, did you get the email I sent you recently about the Mcasso themes?

June 1, 2020 at 4:17 pm #105016JasonRNFKent have gone live. Why can’t the v/o just say ‘BBC Radio Kent’ in a normal tone. Why is he always surpised or sounding sarcastic??
June 2, 2020 at 8:53 pm #105018simon_t123MemberEssex went over Monday … with a sung “BBC Essex” the first time the singers have sung the immortal letters in this package I think ? Travel out is an anomoloy being spoken at the end rather than sung, sounding good overall …
Suffolk still on Mcasso …
Kent doing a slightly different take on the news build with a pre-bed, they’ve always been creative
June 2, 2020 at 11:58 pm #105019JustMattRadioNot sure why Surrey, Sussex have an extra bit on the travel into. Also Julia George gave a nod to Kent’s new imaging on Monday :open_mouth: Kent sound like they are using the news fade before the intro.

I think it’s different because of the need to split the jingle at the start with the appropriate station name before the bed starts.June 3, 2020 at 1:36 pm #105022dw1987ukMember> @JustMattRadio said:

I’m keen to obtain the new travel bed, plus the ‘Manchester’ bed (as listed at http://reelworld.com/jingles/packages/bbclocalradio-2020) which is used on Essex. That webpage has snippets of the beds.
Have these made their way onto the internet yet?

> Have these made their way onto the internet yet?The travel bed isn’t that exciting, the repetitive logo through it gets a bit annoying after a while.
I can’t see anything appearing soon. The new stuff is being closely guarded by the BBC who have been told by Reelworld under no circumstances to ‘distribute it’June 3, 2020 at 6:54 pm #105024JustMattRadio> @RW said:

June 3, 2020 at 8:04 pm #105026AnonymousSo it’s just Suffolk and London who are yet to launch the new package, and London will be the one to watch.
To see whether it will be sung or voiced.June 3, 2020 at 8:06 pm #105027RW> @JustMattRadio said:

> Surrey, Sussex are the only stations who have this. Solent has voiced theirs up, all other stations used the generic one.Since the word ‘Radio’ was added back to the station names in Surrey/Sussex in March, the names are rarely spoken by the presenters during joint programming. Therefore split jingles and voiceovers are being used as much as possible to identify the relevant station name, hence why there’s a voiceover at the start of the travel where there might not need to be in other areas.

>Surrey, Sussex are the only stations who have a different travel into as in the logo. Sussex, Surry, have a three note logo as per all others have the one ‘trumpet’
