Also Bristol, Lincolnshire, Nottingham, Sheffield and Somerset. BBC Tees aren't using it yet.
June 1, 2010 at 11:49 am #74145freq-kyBBC Radio Cambridgeshire still not yet taking it (My apologies if I've made it sound a bit rude).

Aghh – Proper Jingles, well done to all concerned, while the majority of BBC Local is being boring-nised imagining
June 16, 2010 at 4:33 pm #74335simon_t123MemberBBC Kent is using the same travel suite as BBC Essex, hmmm … And the same news build as BBC York, which … is a pity really, Kent did'nt opt for something a bit unique as per Leeds. I guess as others have said it comes down to editors following the suggestion of BBC English Regions to take Mcasso cuts but not really having much time from a busy news diary to sit and listen to the demo's or indeed what your neighbouring BBC local station is using already !!!
June 19, 2010 at 7:30 am #74367BBC SxThey've arrived at BBC Sussex this morning, so I presume they are on BBC Surrey at Guildford as well. So that's all of BBC SouthEast using them now!

Absolutely stunned that they've changed the jingles after such a short time, especially when other BBC Local Radio stations that are still using much older jingle packages have yet to change. They sound a real step back from the old jingles, only consolation is they're slightly better than Radio Kent's versions.
June 20, 2010 at 9:53 am #74375simonp4Have been listening around to some of these… I just can't decide which is worse – the actual dull music tracks (although some of the newer ones are getting better), the repetitiveness of the “BBC” logo when they are in use or the tendency to use really syrupy voice overs? Or maybe is just a combination of all of these?
I'm not against the idea of a network wide package – but surely if you were going to do that, you'd want it to be brilliant?
June 20, 2010 at 10:24 am #74376mbMemberLets be honest the company they chose weren't up to the job and the person doing the brief and approving this stuff was out of thier depth.
June 20, 2010 at 9:07 pm #74382BBC SxI have to say I feel they are a step backwards here in Sussex. By the way, does anyone have any clean copies of these new jingles? I have the one minute BBC Sussex news build in anyone is interested.
June 20, 2010 at 10:30 pm #74383simon_t123MemberThey're a step backwards BBC Sx, so no-one's collecting them I can't understand the need to dump short lived packages for the Mcasso sound, it could be seen as a further waste of licence fee payers money !!!
When Mcasso say on their website they have won the pitch to image ALL the BBC Local Radio stations, they seem to imply then BBC London also ? Can't see that happening any time soon … But then … Who can really ever tell ?!
June 21, 2010 at 6:01 am #74385BBC SxWell I can quite understand why people aren't! But if anyone reading this does have any clean jingles could they message me? Thanks all!
June 21, 2010 at 3:27 pm #74390GBI like the new Mcasso jingles on BBC Sussex. They sound modern and contemporary. The old ones were good, but the new ones simply sound more tidy and up to date.
It's nice that BBC Sussex is finally up to speed with the other BBC Locals. They've always been a bit behind (mainly when they were BBC SCR) in the past.
June 21, 2010 at 6:57 pm #74391mbMemberI can't see BBC London taking them anytime soon nor Manchester. They'd have to be dragged kicking and screaming.
June 21, 2010 at 9:53 pm #74392simon_t123MemberDoes BBC London come under the umberella of BBC Local Radio ? I've often wondered, always seems to do it's own thing …
July 12, 2010 at 4:48 pm #74666GBBBC Jersey now have the jingles as well.
August 9, 2010 at 7:49 pm #75068simon_t123MemberSomething interesting dubbed from an area of the mcasso website I'd never come across before … note at the start they demonstrate the simple development of the “B B C” musical logo which on this montage actually ends with some 'not very bad at all' vocals ! Perhaps the package was designed with instrumental or sung prospects in mind ? …
A journey to Derby today had me hear mcasso on just Essex and Nottingham, there's huge swathes of the country un-mcasso'd (if ever there was such a phrase) many beeb locals still hanging on to in some cases packages which are becoming quite old, anyway … the link here is to the audio I've dubbed off & edited into an mp3, enjoy.
August 14, 2010 at 11:21 pm #75139Mercster08Hi Everyone, does anyone have the 2010 Mcasso Jingle for BBC Newcastle?? I have looked everywhere and can't seem to find it, I think the BBC Leeds one is the same but I am not sure. Can anyone help me, it would be much appriciated
August 24, 2010 at 3:28 pm #75250GBLooks like BBC Guernsey will be the next station to take up the Mcasso jingles.
September 7, 2010 at 7:03 pm #75417wiltshireblokeBBC Wiltshire went live with the package as from yesterday.
September 8, 2010 at 6:29 am #75419fredgreekSo in the West/South West BBC regions BBC Radio Gloucestershire (my local station) is now the only non-Mcasso station!
September 12, 2010 at 7:24 pm #75454pheelI had a little listen to Wiltshire's jingles, and I particularly like the one at the end of the travel (would be great to hear from anyone who might have a clean copy!). Other than that the Wiltshire lot is just the same as everywhere else that has been Mcasso'd (to use ST's phrase!). The only other one I like is at the end of BBC Leeds' travel news, (again would love a clean copy!)
October 12, 2010 at 7:22 pm #75899cubwolfMemberWe now have them in Leicester. Not impressed
October 13, 2010 at 3:26 pm #75911simon_t123Membernot sure there's any variation in these left now for any stations still to take the packages … be interesting to know how pressured from above stations are to use the Mcasso imaging, I wonder that as more flagship beeb locals seem to go their own way, as do some others. If it's a case of being forced then it's understandable that stations will carry Mcasso, but if it's a local 'choice' then some of the stuff being replaced by Mcasso imaging are sadly lost !!!
November 12, 2010 at 5:04 pm #76398GBBBC Radio Oxford have now taken the contemporary Mcasso local BBC package.
