It's the Sue Manning 1982 package…the late Mike Smith (ex Dave Clark 5) on vocal duties.
I'll take a look for this cut in my collection – I'm sure I've got it somewhere.

Rak is right, it's from the Sue Manning 1977/8 series. The cart was labelled New Main Theme 36″ and interestingly it was the first cut from Sue Manning to air on the station.
The New Main Theme was used as a TOH or BOH jingle alongside the old David Dundas/Blue Mink cuts that were on air at the time for about two weeks before rolling out more. Several top up sessions were done and the mix tweaked here and there adding strings and heavier guitar parts before the 1982 package was commissioned.
Many of the cuts are available to hear on this site:
I have a few decent quality cuts from this package that have survived intact and fortunately the New Main Theme is one of them
The Sue Manning 1977 package is the one hole in my Capital Radio collection.
Anyone else manage to blag any ?
I feel a trade coming on……….

are completely silent (even if you save to hard drive first like he suggests).
in fact, only the second one works (either directly or saved).quote from site: If you save the MP3 to your hard drive and then play it, it will work.
err…no it doesn't. (not for me anyway).May 30, 2008 at 11:15 pm #59707gameswizard

a lot of the capital stuff sounding very similar to radio city (as the jingles were made by the same company,of course).
(i loved radio city in the late 70's early/mid 80's…..arrr lovely memories).May 31, 2008 at 7:31 am #59709Munchpot
