If You get more than half a dozen visitors to your site than it becomes unavailable…Not one of the best Free One’sI’ve found that out already Pete All this website thingy is new to me and it was easy to build using their Pagebuilder software. I spent a lot of time doing it 👿
Ok, I’ll throw this open, what’s the best free host then? If I have to pay a small monthly fee I think I could live with that, what does everyone else do?

August 10, 2005 at 5:19 pm #17063UKJinglesMembermmm..Must admit I did try them years ago before Yahoo got hold of them
and they were a little more fairer back then!
Unfortunately I don’t think there is such a thing as a “Free Lunch”
Does your own provider not provide any free web space?
Thanks to David Hemsley I use a wonderful company (based in Leeds!)
called Webmania who only charge £20 A year!!August 10, 2005 at 5:29 pm #17064offshoredazepetewilson wrote: Does your own provider not provide any free web space?

called Webmania who only charge £20 A year!!Apparently my provider (NTL) allow me 55mb of webspace which is quite generous, it just means building the website from scratch and uploading via ftp, more stuff to learn not sure if my brain can take it
Twenty quid a year? I could stretch to that, that wasn’t a plug was it?

August 10, 2005 at 5:41 pm #17065UKJinglesMemberActually I believe our glorious company provides a step-by-step guide on “How to create and upload Web Pages” somewhere on ntlworld.com
No..not plugging WEBMANIA…..I was surprised at the low price….Most of
them charge £20 a MONTH!!August 10, 2005 at 5:46 pm #17066BrianI use Tiscali for my Radio City Tribute site, (they’re no better no worse than any other freebie webspace) they give 50 megs of space for free. When I use that space up I sign up for another 50 megs and another, and another. At the moment I’m up to 250 megs free and all you do is link up each 50 megs to each other. 😈

Ahh but whats the bandwidth quota Brian?
Low Bandwidth and you get what Vince is getting on GeocitiesAugust 10, 2005 at 5:59 pm #17069JingleMadMemberIf anyone wants some hosting just PM or email me (paul.mcgrath@gmail.com) and I’ll set you up with space for your site or somewhere to host your jingles.
I’ve got a lot of space and bandwidth going to waste and I’m paying nothing much at-all for it! I can also do domain hosting.
And all for the low-low price of €0\$0\£0 etc a month!

How do I find out?I’m guessing on the Tiscali Home page?
Of course bandwidth is just as important as webspace…
Some companies give you so much then charge more if it goes over that quota…
I found that out the hard way with a previous provider! -
