May 8, 2006 at 9:30 am #27477BigdaveHi there Oli!
The jingle you’re on about is mine!
To give it it’s official title,it’s known in the JAM vault as Nightingale BS2-17. It’s a resing of cut 17 from The Best Show 2,a package made for KIMN in Denver, with lyrics by Steve Keeney and music by amongst other people,Bruce Upchurch, who posts on this site.
The cut was ordered in early December 2005 via the Personal Cuts service that JAM offer, and arrived just under 6 weeks later. With Postage from the USA,it worked out to around $300 (that’s around £170),and for that, you get the full JAM vocal group and Jon oversees the project for you. He’ll also email you to check on your requirements,to check pronounciation of names or places, and any changes JAM may need to make. It’s a very comprehensive service, and because Jon was a collector,he makes your personal cut as important as a full package, and will only let it go once he is happy with the end product.
Many of us on Jinglemad have used the service – these include Nicky Schiller,Martin Lester,Paul Bland,Pete Wilson,Robin Blamires, and probably more than anybody else,Sean Martin, and are extremely happy with the results.
As Sean once mentioned,to buy a personal cut now costs less than buying 20 cigarettes everyday for a month – and is a far more healthy alternative!
May 8, 2006 at 3:42 pm #27478oliThanks. i am concidering that cut and a TM one so at moment am still deciding, Any chance you can let me hear the other versions you get as on the jam site it mentions all these different versions.

What a good way of looking at it
so if Pete Wilson give up smoking he could afford 12 Extra Jam cuts a year 😆May 9, 2006 at 12:09 pm #27489GrahamCollinsThe mixouts you get depend on the cut you order. A short cut (5″) will not offer as many alternatives as a longer one (20″). A longer cut can fairly easily be edited into a shorter one.
This should make you think VERY carefully about the cut you choose.
If you went for 17″ general station ID you would get the following mixouts:
The Full Cut – i.e. music and all the lyrics you have penned
Ramp 1 – the music and lyrics starting after the first line
Ramp 3 – the music and lyrics starting after the second line
Ramp 3 – the music and only the end line or name
Donut – the music, the first line and the end line only
The Accapella – no music, just the lyricsIf you ask nicely Jon will usually provide several other options. I got a short version and a version of Ramp 3 without strings or brass.
These basic mixouts will allow you and Adobe Audition to produce many more – sweeps/stabs/SFX/loops etc – all part of the fun.
You will not get the instrumental backing track
You will not get alternative lyrics – unless you pay twice !May 9, 2006 at 2:07 pm #27496UKJinglesMembermartinlester” wrote:

about 40 a day @ £4 for 20 = £320 a month!!
But if only it was that easy!!
But then its one of the few “vices” I have nowadays! 😉 -
