As Andy said the BBC in the Midlands loved the variety this cut gave them…..

            Jeeeez!

Thank you…. for ALL the versions……….

I wonder if Jon will tell us the talented person who WROTE this particular cut? :-)

            Anyway. I was having a senior moment when I launched this topic.. r a m b l in g on about Omni-Trax .. so I better post THAT one next !

Oh, here’s one of the VERY usable mix-outs! I LOVE the CLARITY with which Jon enunciates the words….

I love the harmonies on “W-V-J-S” of the wvjs cut.

Which shows once again, that with Jon one isn’t necessarily “locked in” to whatever logo melody is used on a demo version. A lot of clever stuff goes on “under the vocals” with JAM, which helps make many cuts very versatile.

Ask nicely, and many good things become possible :)

My theory is that if the client is in the studio during the vocal sessions the singers get to know them and an extra ‘personality’ might develop in thesound ~ not always.. but sometimes.

I was in studio at JAM c. 1991 when we did this resing for REC’s old telephone services… (yes, I had personal cuts before they were called that..) When you hear the lyrics and with me on the talkback, you can hear how having the client in can truly reflect something that perhaps a writer developing for a client 2000 miles away just can’t capture. That was a fun trip to Dallas. I need to win the lottery so I can do it again.

=D> =D> =D> to all of the above and an extra =D> for your resing Len – another great result. I’ve been hankering after a “The Only One” resing for a while. This has given me new inspiration to have another listen to the demo :-D I also agree with your comment Len re the clarity of JW’s Sonovox components. He’s done some excellent ones for me in the past and maybe I feel another one coming on ;-)
