David BarrasAye then !….and if they had just included some audio samples !
Actually, has anyone got the Radio 2 frequency change stuff
from circa 1978 (“9-0-9 and 3-3-0” and all that ?), as mentioned
on one of the entries :April 27, 2006 at 5:06 pm #20512RobinBlamiresI remember a certain Mr Schiller bragging about it at JD-3 the little tease!
April 27, 2006 at 8:00 pm #20513UKJinglesMemberThis may be a Stupid Question……
But whats the point of it?
Are you meant to be able to access audio archives
Or is it only available to Employees of the BBC ?April 27, 2006 at 8:13 pm #20514RobinBlamiresThe latter may seem like a plausibe reason but I find this database dreadfully addictive!
April 28, 2006 at 12:28 am #20518NickySMemberDoesn’t seem to want to open for me – maybe a server thing but certainly at the BBC you can search all of the archive on the intranet to see what’s there and certainly you get audio samples and sometimes all the audio to listen to at your desktop (not top quality before you ask) and then you can order the material you actually want.
April 28, 2006 at 7:10 am #20520rodmutchI got the front page once, but then it went offline around 10.30pm, just as I started to search!!!!

April 30, 2006 at 10:29 am #20555ratnobMemberHow very appropriate for Sunday, Mr B. I listened to the first few seconds and was delighted to switch it off! There are some jingles we should all delete from our collections!

I wouldn’t call it a jingle in the true sense though – more of a sung promo.
Thank you Mr B for sharing it with us.

Thank you Mr B for sharing it with us.Would I be right in my garbled old memory saying that the Kings’
Singers piece was officially entitled “Some Enchanted Wavelength” :Nice to hear this one again after such along time though !
