433 330 STEREO VHF RADIO 2″No re-sings Mike, but to expand the topic a little, has anyone ever come across
the FULL set of the “Radio 2 is On the Move” jingles from the big changeover in
1978?These included “metres” versions of each cut as well as “kilohertz” ones (some
of which sounded a bit…er…difficult to get the lyrics to fit!) There were also
cuts that were used AFTER the changeover to say that “Now That We've Moved to…”October 22, 2006 at 9:16 am #22984ah-mediaMemberWere they not on the 1976 / 1978 Radio 1 / Radio 2 tape?
I'm not at home this morning but can check when I'm back.
I think there were 4 versions if I remember correctly
“Radio 2 is on the move, but we haven't gone to far, 909 or 693 Khz is where we are, if your dial is marked in meters, here's what you need to know, just look for us at 433 or 330.”

JAM there were the mix-outs/variants etc of the basic cuts – I've got
some on an ancient reel-to-reel aircheck tape that are not the same as
the small selection on the JAM demo. It would be interesting if there
was an intact clean copy somewhere of the full sub-package.And has anyone still got the Kings' Singers “Some Enchanted Wavelength”
piece that was also used at that time? (I binned my copy more than 20
years ago – mistake!!!)October 23, 2006 at 9:11 pm #23000NickySMemberI have the On The Move stuff somewhere and the 433/330 cut is one of my favourites – so much so I had it re-sung as a personal jingle I'll try and upload it soon.

October 28, 2006 at 8:55 am #23097GrahamCollinsThe Radio 2 frequency moving jingles were tagged onto the 1978 or 'D' series package. I have a clean version that is to my knowledge complete from way back albeit in mono but unless you listen on cans it's difficult to tell ! I can't say there are many mixouts just several different sets of lyrics.
I think the King's Singers wavelength song is available from the R2 bit of the Radio Rewind site.

I'll check the Rewind page for the Kings Singers tarck – thanks!
