2012 BBC Radio 2 Christmas Jingles

As a fan of Radio 2 jingles I really like the new sound Wise Buddah made for the station back in July.
Some new Alex Lester and Jeremy Vine cuts have also just started airing.
So I was eagerly awaiting the new Christmas package.But what do we get ? The answer it seems is the regular jingles with a few sleigh bells added !
Seems a bit odd to me to make an Olympics jingle to be played for a few weeks every four years but not to make a decent Christmas package.
At least Jam and Groove made an effort !

The have just paid a man in a suit over £ 400,000 for just 52 days work .. so no money in the piggy bank … for the items that can make the station shine on air

I must say that I’m equally disappointed with the Christmas imaging this year on Radio 2 and was expecting some new custom cuts from Wise Buddah to appear, especially as the original brief from the BBC Commissioning site mentioned that the anticipated R2 package would include 5 x Christmas IDs!

This is indeed a bad omission by Radio 2 ~ and I never understand why ALL radio stations do not make more of Christmas. And even more importantly, summer, when you can take ‘summer radio’ with you to enhance a day outdoors. Let’s face it, Brits spend a LOT of time indoors each year because of the weather!

Don’t get withdrawal symptoms from JAM Christmas jingles, just tune-in (can I do an advert as it’s Christmas ? ) to solidgoldgem.am over the ‘holiday season’, where we DO know how to order GREAT Christmas imaging!
