And I thought I was being restrained by putting what I put,Dan!
As Michael has explained though, forums are there to encourage debate and it’d be boring if we all agreed on the same thing – but every now and again ,there’s always one who gets off by deliberately “flaming” the thread!Anyway,Seasons Greetings to all of you,to Chris and the team at TMCI,and to Roy,Simon,Martin and all the team at The Bee!

December 27, 2005 at 7:54 pm #25484danjamesukDon’t worry… I know forums such as these are here to criticise as well as praise new ID packages. I myself have dished out both in the past!
All I was trying to say in my post to Just, and would say to anybody, is simply try to be constructive and not crucify a piece of work without justification. Indeed, criticise not crucify. To crucify is destructive, to criticise with justification constructive.
I’m just saying “let’s play nice”, and you can even “play nice” even when you don’t like something! In my line of work, I actually enjoy constructive criticism – it makes my work and technique improve. However, if someone plainly slags off what I do, without giving a reason, it serves to both annoy and upset. If we’re doing that to a guy who’s only just started out at TM Century, as Just did, it’s not playing nicely.
We’re all adults who can constructively criticise with the aim of helping someone improve or learn from what we consider to be mistakes or areas that need a bit of polish. Those of us who can only crucify someone’s work are basically playground bullies, and that’s not very mature, is it?
Anyway, happy new year!

I’m convinced I recognised the solo voice of Annagrey LaBasse and TM group vocals, but there are other soloists I don’t recognise.
I’d go with Annagrey LaBasse too,but I suppose the man to ask is Chris when he’s about….

December 29, 2005 at 9:28 am #25490DevawebMemberFull marks to Dave and Sean, the soloist is indeed Annagrey. Cut 5 isn’t though… for obvious reasons when you hear it!
By the way, have been enjoying this thread lots – special thanks to Dan for expressing the view of the creatives behind packages – constructive criticism is always welcome though unconstructive criticism isn’t
Glad you like the Christmas cut – it’s an unofficial version hehe!
By the way, I am *very* concerned that both Martin Lester and Michael Bolton like the package – they don’t normally approve of packages that I’m involved with! You’ll both be pleased to know though that I’m still a massive fan of Bespoke’s work though
And don’t be too harsh on noise fusion – Ben and the team are superb people, with excellent work on many big stations in the UK and beyond. As so much of the stuff on their site is currently on air (and some of it incredibly recent creations), I can appreciate their concerns about open MP3 links to their stuff. I’m sure he doesn’t want to squash the enthusiasm, but as we’ve discovered on this site, some “collectors” don’t always have the best intentions at heart.
Anyway, Happy New Year to everyone on the site, glad the main opinion on The Bee package is a thumbs-up.
Chris
PS – My fave cut is #4
PPS – All my own opinions, not that of anyone I work for, etc etc!December 29, 2005 at 9:28 am #26984DevawebMemberFull marks to Dave and Sean, the soloist is indeed Annagrey. Cut 5 isn’t though… for obvious reasons when you hear it!

At the end of a demo the v.o. said it was recorded in UK and Brazil. What was recorded in Brazil and who was the producer? Thanks.

December 29, 2005 at 11:43 am #25492GrahamCollinsMy favourite cut is also #4 ! It has a very clever harmony on the final BEE. As has been said, I rather like the fact that it makes the station feel bigger and in a way, more worthy. The competition should take note.
Chris – besides N96, can you hint at what interest there has been from other UK stations making the leap from sweepers to real jingles ?
