Only my opinion but I like em.
December 23, 2005 at 1:13 pm #25459BigdaveNow the package is up on the TM site,I’ve given it a good listen and even “roadtested” it against some tunes .
And the verdict….
An extremely versatile collection of AC cuts which fits the station and it’s music policy -which has to be a prequisite of any jingle package. If you’ve listened on-line,it also allows you to get recall of the station logo – because it uses the same musical notation of “1-0-7 – The Bee” on all the cuts. It’s also a package which will stand the test of time – it will not suffer from not being resung for others by sounding “too old” or “too modern, which means it can run alongside top up cuts should the station wish to invest 18 months/2 years down the line.
As it’s also Chris Stevens first package for TM,I feel that we should be proud that an UK guy is writing and producing packages which will reinvigorate UK stations into using Dallas for their imaging.
Now will somebody get him a pint of cider and a barbeque chicken pizza for his work….

Just a question does anyone know who makes the Roy Martin cuts for the bee?
TMCENTURY does the Roy Martin cuts. These are not parts of the dwmo but resings of the main slogans. Codeman
Take a look at the Studio Dragonfly page for “K Lite 1 & 2” and you’ll find the original cuts there. Martin Greenwood’s breakfast cut is from (if my memory serves me right) “Manhattan’s Mix” – which can also be found there too!

I appreciate your comments – each to there own and all that – but to call the package **** is rather unsubstantiated ,so it’s time I cleared up some issues.
Just for the record, the choice of imaging company would lie with the programme controller of 107 The Bee,Simon Brierley, and it would have been Simon’s decision to comission the package. Although Chris Stevens may have syndicated Bespoke’s work in the past under the Devaweb banner, why would he advise them to use a Bespoke product when he’s wrote and produced the package, and is the current Creative Director of TM Century Incorporated? Not only is this not his position to do so,but wouldn’t exactly endear himself to David Graupner, would he?
I think this time we’ll agree to disagree – but I think that the scales weigh in favour of the package (according to the percentage of contributors to this thread)…..

December 24, 2005 at 8:50 am #25468danjamesukWho the hell do you think you are, Just?
Every single time I read one of your posts on this website, it’s slagging something off, or moaning about this or griping about that.
When do you EVER get off complaining?
You should realise that Chris Stevens is a regular contributor to these forums, and yes, he should be able to take criticism (I know – I’m a producer too).
But to come on this forum and repeatedly say “this is wrong” / “should be kept for the USA” / “are ****” is bang out of order, and I hope you get a warning from one of jinglemad.com’s moderators.
At the risk of sounding like a pretentious idiot, producers do suffer for their art! We’re a passionate bunch. We’re our own worst critics. Many of us find it incredibly difficult to believe in ourselves – it took being headhunted for a job for me to finally push myself forward in this industry. Prior to that, I simply didn’t have the confidence to launch myself forward.
Now think. Think very hard about how offensive comments (“these are ****”) could make someone feel about work they’ve worked bloody hard over and put a lot of love into.
Imagine someone telling you that YOUR work is ****, Just.
Have an opinion. Criticise. Just don’t crucify.
Happy Christmas, you nasty little Scrooge.

December 24, 2005 at 1:10 pm #25472MadFor those who missed Just’s posts, don’t worry you only missed some bitter comments by someone who has been on this forum for a long time under many different names, and is the same person who tried to shut jinglemad.com down by complaining to trading standards and the BBC about jingle copyright.
We’ll let you know what username he comes up with next so we can ignor him from now on…

Dan,
I appreciate your passion however lets also not go too far the other way.
I read forums about many things and you don’t get record producers typing in floods of tears for having their work slagged off on-line. Sad but it comes with the art.I’ve had disagreements with producers but they are big enough and ugly enough to see it as it is – one view. If we all feared comments no-one would ever make anything. Or post anything.
Those of a weak disposition should really avoid the internet!!
I know you are trying to make the point that producers are only people too but opinion is also made up of an emotional reaction. There are a few nasties out there who need to be plucked from the masses ( And I’m not disagreeing with any decision made on here ) but I also love a good debate lets remember it is ok not not like something. I’m sure in 2006 I’m going to trample on some ego’s but equally dish out some praise.
But as I’ve said on this thread – its a great package, I’ve been talking to some freinds in production who feel that the US just can’t do the tracks that work on UK radio but that the best jingle vocals in the world are still in the UK and its a great combination. TM, JAM, Reelworld singers really do sound better. I dunno why but its different.

December 24, 2005 at 8:09 pm #25476BigdaveAnd I thought I was being restrained by putting what I put,Dan!
As Michael has explained though, forums are there to encourage debate and it’d be boring if we all agreed on the same thing – but every now and again ,there’s always one who gets off by deliberately “flaming” the thread!Anyway,Seasons Greetings to all of you,to Chris and the team at TMCI,and to Roy,Simon,Martin and all the team at The Bee!
