I was listening to Shaun Keveney on BBC 6 Music this morning – and heard him using this music bed as he usually does every morning… But its just occurred to me that this bed sounds very much a BBC Local Radio jingle from about 10 years ago – isn’t that the 7 note BBC Local logo!??
I have to say that when all the local stations had variations of the BBC Local logo, I wasn’t too keen on it, but in the age of Mcasso, on reflection I think there were some good packages back then!
that’s indeed a BBC Local Radio bed from the twinkles & 7 note logo era BBC Essex used that as their station opener out of 5live, from what I was aware that imaging project had lots of generic tracks on CD’s sent to the locals, you can sometimes see them lined up in the background of photos stuck in the once cart rack part of a BBC Mk 3 desk / studio… I liked that era, we slated it at the time, but sung Id’s in the style ran on some stations & the composition quality far exceeds the more synthetic Mcasso sound… wonder why 6musics playing the old stuff there mind, maybe it was buyout so is free? or maybe that jock did some time on the locals?
