I arrived in Santa Monica yesterday afternoon and I listened a lot KOST all yesterday (drive home),
at night (Love Songs on the Coast) and this morning with Mark Wallengren, and JAM jingles are still
on the air a lot! I feel like we are back in the good times, finally, with this sweet velvet feeling.I only heard the ReelWorld signature at the Top of the hour (during daytime). Yesterday, all evening long, even the Top of the hour remains JAM signature (about 30s length). Stunning & beautiful!
The weather break is all JAM, ending with a Jock ID (still JAM).At this point, it is hard to understand their strategy. It is like if they want to jump from a cliff
without the fear of hurting themselves…October 17, 2009 at 5:35 pm #70654LenGroatHello Thierry
THANKS for this GOOD news… maybe someone from the KOST management reads this Forum ?
California, and California radio is special…
In the early 90s When I landed in San Francisco I ALWAYS tuned to AM, to hear KABL ('cable' cars!) but it's an FM station now. They had INCREDIBLE MOR jingles 'Your station of the Stars' – I never have managed to get a copy.
In about 1991 one of my Radio Trent deejays flew to New York and spent his ENTIRE holiday in his room taping WABC, Z100, WCBS etc.. I hope you manage to get some California Sun!
'Happy Holiday from ..'

October 17, 2009 at 8:15 pm #70658tyty21maybe so! still good news, i'm glad to hear we've still got our signature sound in the clear. that's the sound of growing up in 1989-1994! ha ha!
October 17, 2009 at 8:18 pm #70659tyty21BTW, thiery, just left downtown L.A a few minutes ago from Union Station. i'm now in compton at my grandma's. how long are you gonna be in L.a? i'd love to see you before you “go go” lol!

'complaints about the RW jingles went beyond us jingle fanatics'
I suspect it was this…
The only 'problem' is that JAM created so many jingles, that they may not be needed much from now on?
With every possible variation of musical style, and multiple lyrics, KOST could just go on… into infinity.. rotating them, and only buy new presenter cuts..
Forvever..
Or is that Jingle Heaven'!
It WAS a near a perfect sound as a station can achieve; I do hope no one destroys it again…
October 18, 2009 at 10:10 am #70683DavidHemsleyi'm very surprised that someone hasn't started a jam-mad.com website !!
Maybe one for you Len . . .
