Hello, on jingles.com there is a very enjoyable chunk from WSM in 1977. It is a mixture of JAMS's Dimension 2 and WSM Package. After listening to the aircheck I realised the packages had done exactly what they are supposed to and I couldn't get the jingles out of my head. I tried looking for cuts from the packages on jinglemad but to no avail. The only link I could find was to pete-wilson.net which according to my browser is infected with malware.
In my humble opinion these jingles represent a high-point in production on a par with WABC.
Does anyone have any other cuts from the WSM Dimension 2 or WSM Package like the attached file? Thanks.

September 3, 2009 at 7:55 pm #69597ratnobMemberOne of my all-time jingles packages – thanks for reminding me of it. I'm determined to get a personal cut from this before I go up in a puff of smoke one day …
September 4, 2009 at 8:39 pm #69621LenGroatI ALWAYS loved the 'Music and more on the weekend' cut, and I recall Jon Wolfert explained a few months back (?) that it was actually first done for WABC as a 'serious' Sunday cut.
I was fortunate enough to get it (in about 1991) when I re-lyriced it
'Happiness is (various donut centre lyrics) GEM – AM – Having a Golden Dayyy'
It gave me a kick 'pinching' a PAMS Series 28 lyric and using it on a JAM cut!
To me it is a PERFECT melodic/soft radio jingle.
September 4, 2009 at 8:58 pm #69623davidrspencer01I've just had a chance to listen to the WSM package (courtesy of Mr Barras…Thank you again). I think the combination of harmonies and superb instrumentation mark this out as an exceptional package pitched some way between radio 1 and radio 2 in terms of style. As a matter of interest does anyone know if the WSM version of Dimension 2 matches the WHAS-Louisville package cut for cut?

September 6, 2009 at 1:08 pm #69683GrahamCollinsMr B, does you WSM package include the news sounder ? Really like it but have never heard it in the clear !
Speak soon.September 7, 2009 at 4:08 pm #69705radioboy949Barras, did you ever get the entire package that I was unable to obtain while working for WSM?
September 7, 2009 at 7:24 pm #69712BarrasChalks/radioboy949,
it`s just the WSM demo that I sent spen1…
September 10, 2009 at 3:01 am #69776JAM / PAMSMemberI'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the sound of JAM jingles on WSM. I liked them on the air too. At that time, the station was contemporary during the day and country at night. WSM has an interesting history which you can read about on Wikipedia among other places. Just search for “WSM (AM)”.
Anyway, for all you fans, here's a little montage of goodies from the vault. It's cut #8 from “The WSM Package”… the original version (which was indeed made for WABC to use in-between religious and public affairs shows on Sunday mornings), my favorite version (which is not on the WSM demo), and another notable rendition.
Enjoy.

September 10, 2009 at 3:39 am #69779BarrasThat jingle has just been written about in great length on Jinglemad, I`ll see if I can find the post…
Thanks Jon – keep going into your vault for more goodies, please !
September 10, 2009 at 4:16 am #69781ratnobMemberAn absolute classic. That “autumn day” version works beautifully.
September 10, 2009 at 6:32 am #69785bossjockMemberOne of my favourite jingles (some great resings around – especially the GEM versions) and on my list as a potential personal cut when funds permit. Thank you Jon for these little nuggets – keep 'em coming!
September 10, 2009 at 8:00 am #69786AndyWaltersMemberJon digging into the vault alone makes it worth coming on here. Mr Barras, WIXY & co make it even better.

Pure, simple – class! Thanks Jon!“Jon digging into the vault alone makes it worth coming on here.
Mr Barras, Wixy & co make it even better”Never thought I'd ever be rated amongst THAT level of very distingished company Andy,
but “thank you“! Mr B at least has actually BEEN in that Vault of course!September 10, 2009 at 12:21 pm #69794JingleMadMemberbossjock wrote: One of my favourite jingles (some great resings around – especially the GEM versions)

September 10, 2009 at 4:29 pm #69804radioboy949Thanks for that Mr. Wolfert… that was fantastic! One day I'd love to get my hands on the entire WSM packages you did for them back in the 70s. I was their production director up until a couple of years ago, and unfortunately most of their archive is lost.
