I don't think that this has been posted, sorry if it has, I know Wixy had been talking about it but Ocean FM here in Hampshire is now going to be rebranded Heart as from 22nd June. So another bland station pumping out the same with no local ID. What a state UK radio is, no excitement, no individuality just uniformity. So glad we have our memories of the good old days of radio broadcasting.

The transition from POWER FM to GALAXY lost them 30,000 listners in the latest RAJAR. I wonder If the same will happen to the Ocean TSA

I think the reason why I find it so difficult to get worked up about the all-encompassing Heart rebrand is that the stations had become so bland anyway, that it really seems to make very little difference. They were dead to me anyway.

Admittedly, I'm only going by a few stations, such as Gemini, which was absolutely bloody useless. Maybe other stations had more to lose.

Sad that Ocean will become yet another poor & weak watered-down “celebrity gossip”
English version of the the French NRJ Group “Cherie FM” concept.

But Senga, 33-year-old Debbie's Scottish cousin must like it, in its Bauer Group “More of the Songs You Love” version!

However, I digress! (“..aye, git oan wi' it then, ya auld goat!”)

Victory/Ocean in its various incarnations often had some excellent jingles, whether UK customs or JAM re-sings.

These are the LBS news and travel cuts, full versions.

(PS – I have several full copies of the excellent large JAM joint Ocean / Southern 1992 package
            – BUT every version from different people has discernable MP3-processing
artifacts to differing degrees on each version.

I would very much like to ditch the hundreds of Megs of duplicates, so if anyone would be up for a suitable swap on a genuine “clean” version then please email/PM me – thanks! – unless JMW should ever open up “The Vault“'s UK clients' Reference copies that is!)
