Hi.
I am starting my own Internet Radio station shortly (where have you heard that one before).
I wondered if any of you experts could recommend a production company that offers a reasonable sung or re-sung station package for broadcast at a keen price.
I am not a cheapskate but am funding the whole project out of my own pocket so need value for money.
BTW I am based in the UK
Thanks in anticipation.
Take care.

February 16, 2009 at 12:12 pm #65143martinlesterMemberIf you plan to buy a whole Package then
Studio Dragonfly would be the best option (about $199 a Cut)
If only a small amount of cuts then Ijingles or JAM or Radioscape who under the Personal Cuts scheme will allow
for internet Radio use expect to pay $225 to $250 per cutAll of above are Sung in Dallas
For UK
Steve England at S2 Blue expect to pay £100.00 per cutonly other UK Company that offers Personal Cuts is Beaspoke (But I am Not a Big Fan of them) of course its up to you
to have a listen to hear the sound they offerMusic 4 and Wise Buddah -Do Not offer any kind of Personal Cut Scheme so above are your best options
February 16, 2009 at 1:29 pm #65144BigdaveAs Martin has mentioned,Studio Dragonfly would be a good option.
http://new.studiodragonfly.com/
The reasoning behind this is that you can pay over a period of time for 10 cuts…from the website this is what it says about payment for “Global Beat”
“Package includes 10 cuts. Additional cuts available for $199. Alternate sings available for $135. Amount Due for Basic Package = 1 Payment of $1,999.00(+ AT,HS&I*) or $2,098.95 ($419.79 down and 12 payments of $139.93) (+ AT,HS&I*) (*Applicable tax (Texas only), handling/shipping, and jingle insurance.)”
There's also IJingles – of which Sean Martin, one of our members here can give you more information about,as it's his baby!
Check out http://ijingles.com/intro.asp and listen to the DJ Jingles demo – you might find a jingle there that I know quite well….
There's also Devaweb – our good friend Chris Stevens is an integral part of that organisation, and the Production Park is run by one of the head honcho's of this site,Roy Martin.
February 16, 2009 at 7:36 pm #65148SeanMartinThanks for the intro Dave – iJingles has branded a number of internet stations. Rather than the “pay as you go” option that locks you into payments over a period of time, I think our motto would be “pay as you grow“.
Start with the (essential) Top of Hour jingle to celebrate the station brand along with a couple of carefully selected 2-punch cuts or transition cuts to maintain the brand's active prescence through each hour and a station on a budget can sound like a million dollars.
Then add to the jingle rotation along the way as want or desire dictates (and funds permit)! It's also a lot more fun (the way radio used to be, remember?).
Amazing Mark – what format will your station be?
-SeanFebruary 16, 2009 at 8:55 pm #65151amazing_markHi Guys. Thank you so much for your replies. It is a minefield out there isn't it when you are trying to decide on imaging.
I spent a lot of time on ijingles.com and I will send you an email from your site Sean tomorrow to have a chat about it. Unless you get to me first.
My station is really going to be playing a variety of music from the 70s – today.
The image I would like is not exactly 'hot rocking hip hop and rap etc' but certainly a modern image that would appeal to listeners in their 20s to 40s if that doesn't sound too broad. I envisage it to be a lot like BBC Radio 2. And like you say 'the way radio used to be'
Thanks so much.

June 14, 2009 at 6:19 pm #67706amazing_markI would like to thank everyone who replied to my question. I had a few great offers but due to the present economic climate I decided to go with a production company here in the UK as the British pound is not doing so well against foreign currencies.
I got a great deal from Steve England at S2 Blue. It turns out that they are less than 30 minutes drive from my house as well.
They produced three packages for me and were absolutely fantastic from start to finish.
I am overjoyed with them.
Thanks for all your advice.

June 14, 2009 at 7:23 pm #67711Good Time OldieHey Mark, some nice vocals there mate, thanks for sharing. Do you know which package the tracks are from?.
I hope Mr England invited you up into his amazing cockpit to watch Steve and Sarah in action below?.
Hope the radio station goes well, let me know if you want an Old Codger onboard, although I wouldn't feel comfortable playing anything post 1989 lol.
Good luck!
The Good Time Oldie
June 14, 2009 at 7:51 pm #67713amazing_markYes the cuts were from the Get Real Package.
Cuts 3 4 & 8 (I think)
Also each cut came with about eight mix outs per cut too.
Thanks for the kind words about them. I have to say I was more than impressed with their service although I didn't ask to go and visit them.
I thought it better to leave them to it as I'm sure they have a lot more experience than me and that they didn't need my input to make the Jingles good.
Take care.

June 14, 2009 at 7:51 pm #67714simon_t123MemberI've shopped about for personal cuts … iJingles (Sean Martin) offer the best value of production quality vs price & of course that BIG TM Studios sound $225 a cut …
I won a cut from S2Blue the other year, they have cuts from the “Connected CD” up for £100 each, some good tracks there, UK singers on those …
I brought a cut thru Roy @ Production Park last year for £150, the cut was Real Radio's 2004 Weather Sequence from of course Bespoke Music, I love the female vocalists style & sound, she appears on alot of cuts but the cut I got from them sounds superb !
For my latest batch of cuts for an internet station I've gone with “Ben Freedman” now whatever I've read on here about Ben, he certainly knows his stuff and I got x3 full sung ID's and a zillion mixes & extras bundled in it seems for just $360, in £ thats about £200, THAT is value, those cuts are sung by the same names the other guys use in Dallas, so am looking forward to the results there
I'd so love to go with Jam for a P/Cut but I know I'd want a few at once and don't have the £££ lols.
Top Format sadly very expensive per sing, full price £300 ish which is a shame, and IQ Beats although I read somewhere were considering P/Cuts they dont seem to provide that service, neither do Reelworld who wanted £350 a cut …
The company behind “Radio Scilly” and some pretty cool packages “Jingle Factory” seem to also offer a decently priced service.
Shop about, get ya quotes in and go for it, the more sung ID's we can get on internet stations to make 'em sound great the more of a raspberry we can blow at large groups who close down all the heritage ILR's and replace 'em with just one (albeit very good !) jingle package lols
June 14, 2009 at 8:16 pm #67718IainJohnstonMemberBen Freedman will indeed give very good value for money on a form of “Dallas sound”, although some of his backing tracks perhaps may not be everyone's cup of tea. Depends on what one wants really.
His way of doing “group vocals” is most unusual, but it does indeed mean “zillions of mixouts” without any doubt!
And (as far as I know), no time limits (99-year “lease”), plus he has legendary Ken Justiss for sonovox cuts as well.
June 15, 2009 at 1:36 pm #67729simon_t123MemberI'm waiting to hear the end results Wixy I'm happy to have a little flutter every now & then, there's actually some pretty good resings available there of some Pepper Tanner packages, if you were say getting cuts in for a gold station that would be pretty cool … As for the layeed singing, I'm curious about that but assured there would then be a number of vocal mix-outs too which if nothing else is well … interesting
June 15, 2009 at 1:53 pm #67731malexanderI went with jingles Factory, they sounds good, and they are afforable too! http://www.jinglesfactory.com
June 15, 2009 at 3:28 pm #67734IainJohnstonMemberSimon – much appreciate your help with the “Family History” stuff!
As for Ben F, he even “layers” his Shouts! I'll try and send a quick example to you when I get a chance to catch up with my emails).
