Today Music 4 launched the new Chris Moyles 2009 cuts and the IQ beats This is Heart This is Heart breakfast cuts have been on air for a week. And to be honest it feels a bit poor.
Without getting nostalgic there is none of the production quality that you got on the Z100 JAM cuts or the TM morning cuts.
The last good morning imaging I heard were the Wise Buddah breakfast cuts and the Johnny V cuts they made a couple of years back.I was looking forward to the revitalised Moyles cuts but nohhing grabbed me and the Heart cuts are just not up to the usual IQ Beats standard.
Where is all the good imaging????
January 13, 2009 at 12:11 am #64535mumossIt's great to have Moyles back, but I wasn't impressed with the new imaging either. The Cheesy Song remix isn't as good as the original, and the main cuts seem influenced by the Ray Foley Today FM cuts (themselves inspired by Moyles) – and all the fun has been sapped out of them.
The Cheggars Pop Quiz stuff is ace, though. And it took all of 10 minutes this morning for Chris to play a classic R1 news jingle
January 13, 2009 at 4:55 pm #64540jr2479Wow, agreed, the new Moyles cuts are horrible compared to the two previous sets.
January 13, 2009 at 5:01 pm #64541WelshjinglerI too preferred the previous cuts. I guess it's a case of, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
January 13, 2009 at 6:25 pm #64542barrydavidallanbdaThe new moyles cuts have a “rock edge” is this the style of the station ?…………If they used the Radio 1 mix outs on other shows they may sound ok.. but as breakfast jingles they have lost it…they are as poor as Bespoke on a good day !

Have a Listen to this !
It's the new Breakfast Show Song from Wise Buddhah, for Viking FM
This is one of the Best Breakfast Show Jingles I have heard in a long time, it fits with today’s sound but still has a great hook and at long last someone has put a bit of thought into the lyrics instead of the same old “XXXX at Breakfast XXX FM”
What do you guys think?

January 15, 2009 at 9:53 pm #64575ratnobMemberI know what you mean, Martin, but for me it's a bit too close to the Moyles stuff (in lyrics and melody). I'd be looking for a gospel style, or something that marks the show out as being different rather than a clone. But what do others think?
January 16, 2009 at 9:32 am #64584BarrasI`m sure someone will correct if I`m wrong (!) but the voice at the start of the jingle “say kids what time is it ?” sounds like the American radio personality Dan Ingram…
