Knowing that Pete Salant (one of the folks that was involved with creating the legendary “Nine” tape) is involved with Country 92.5, perhaps that sung “Five” wasn't much of a mistake after all. :>)

The compilation package Hit Country created for WWYZ by JAM's Jon Wolfert in early 2006 is an example of a non-Country jingle package being used by a Country station. Listen to the demo to hear me explain what I'd asked Jon to create for the station, then listen to the typically extraordinary job he did of fulfilling my wishes.

The 'aircheck' submitted by Ratnob is not an aircheck. You're hearing a recording made from our 64kbps stereo iHeartRadio streaming feed for the iPhone. On-air commercial breaks are replaced by different commercials and other fill content for the stream listener, then conditioned and processed for streaming through the amazing Orban Optimod PC card and Opticodec software.

Like most other stations, WWYZ continues to experience glitches from time to time in the complex algorithms used in our automation server to calculate the duration of fill breaks covering on-air commercial stopsets. We're aiming for perfection on that, and the timing of cutaways and rejoins is getting better. That standalone “Five!” jingle to which Ratnob refers is simply a late rejoin to main program audio. WWYZ obviously doesn't sound like this on the radio. I do thank you for the mention of my role in the production of the classic “NINE!” back when men and dinosaurs coexisted here on Earth.

Thanks, Ratnob. Actually, the audio quality of the iPhone stream compares favorably with air quality, which I can state with absolutely no modesty whatsoever is as good as it gets, anywhere. I am the processing “tweaker” for all five of our company's Hartford stations, and I'm obsessive about it.
