I'll be talking to Mike D'Abo on my late show on BBC Radio Lancashire after 11 on wednesday night (June 25).
Mike wrote and sang on many of the Sue Manning Music Jingles (261 BRMB Radio – heart beater of the midlands) and wrote the finger of fudge commercial.
I'm planning on touching on his jingle work in the interview.

      Hi John

I would love to know if Mike had any involvement in the Sue Manning jingles for Radio Sheffield. I'd also love to know if he knows if there's any chance of finding the complete Sheffield package (hey, and Hallamland too while we're at at it!).

The Sheffield and Hallam Sue Manning packages are what fired my love for jingles so any more info would be appreciated :)

      Cheers!

Thanks for letting us know in advance about this interview John, I`ll certainly be listening. Any chance you could ask a question around the subject of…is Mike aware that they`re are a large group of people out there in “Jinglemad land” who would love to have copies of his jingle packages and would it be possible to buy dubs, like what Steve England did with the Alfasound master reels ?

In fact I recorded the interview tonight – we talked off air – about the BRMB package which he did with Mike Smith (Dave Clark Five) – he was also pretty involved with Mercia (220 playing on your radio) and Red Rose (in tune with Lancashire – loud and clear)
He talks during the interview about Sue Manning who used to work with Jeff Wayne (I didn't know that) and that when she left she asked him to work with her at her new company.
All good stuff – I play a song from Smith & D'Abo “Free as a Bird” which got a lot of airplay on ILR back in 1976 – and which vocally sounds just like those Smith & D'Abo jingles for Sue Manning.
