Great find Duane, thanks for posting that jingle – I have collected several jingles over the years that sing different place-names but I reckon this 2XX jingle tops them all !

Reminds me of the single “life is a rock (but the radio rolled me)” by Reunion.

A lot more creative than nowadays where where a voiceover artist just reels off a few districts of the town or city.
“Serving here, there and somewhere else, on 99.9, this is Bland FM”

No worries, David. Glad you enjoyed it. They certainly had everyone covered with that jingle :-)

Yes, I see the resemblance there!

Actually, this jingle came from what was overall a good package which comprised of a full length image song and various shorter cuts which contained some really nice melodies. My guess is that it was locally produced, but I really wouldn't have a clue. I'll see what I can find out.

Thanks for posting this Duane. Thing is I can't get it out of my head now. Great jingle though! Have you anymore examples? :-)

              Hi inferno

Thanks. Yes, I do have a few more examples from this package somewhere, so I will attempt to lift them from old airchecks and post them here. Keep an eye out :-)

              Cheers

                G'day

I found another wee gem in the archives earlier this week and just had to include it in this thread. With a total of 37 suburb names covered, this easily tops the last jingle I posted for the amount of placenames squeezed into a single cut.

From Radio Windy 891khz in Wellington, New Zealand (12:00am 1/1/1985). Great way to start the new year, huh?

                Enjoy!
