WCBS-FM is now airing their first new batch of jingles since their comeback, and thankfully they've stuck with JAM. The ones I've heard so far are all from the classic Positron package, including the jock cut. I'll have to try and aircheck some of these later.

I think they are STILL JAM. The jock ids are new.
But I heard the same great goosebumping toh. And same { maybe remixed } reverb id.

Yes, the Do It Again and Home of the Hits jingles are still in the rotation, and the new jingles are JAM as well. The only non-JAM jingles on the station are a few cuts from the '80s Frank Gari package.

Anyway, here are some of the new cuts.

When your 5th in the market why change.
            Considering you're used to be 10th 0r 12th.

THE NUMBER ONE CHOICE FOR JINGLES IS JAM!!

They're playing the new cuts a lot and it's made the station sound faster, slicker, I think (though I still love the Home of the Hits/Do it Again cuts)

I was pleasantly surprised when I heard the new jingles — there are some from LogoSet as well. Dan Taylor's jock ID (or at least the one I've heard) is different from the rest, although I can't place my finger on the package. They do sound great, and I'm glad that the other jingles are being kept in rotation as well. CBS-FM is a perfect example of how great jingles make a station sound great — I also like when they segue from one song to another with a jock AND jingle, which is something the old CBS-FM never did (outside of mornings) to my knowledge.

Out of curiosity, from what source did you record the jingles? The audio on a few of the clips sounds different (some have “brighter” sounds than others). The reason I ask is that WCBS-FM seems to be having some audio “issues” (on 101.1 FM). I was driving last night in the car around 9 (which is when I think the Joe Causi jock cut was recorded) and, during “Ob La Di, Ob La Da,” the audio became brighter – more like what it was up until earlier this year. Then, suddenly, at the end of the song, everything just dropped down. Not crisp, not bright – nothing. “Sister Golden Hair” almost sounded like it was being played on a satellite radio station. I'm guessing that maybe the continued audio tweaking might have been the cause for the different sounds on the audio clip – especially the one between the third jingle and the Causi cut.

Nevertheless, thanks for recording. I've yet to hear the LogoSet cut and the two quick Positron transitions. Strangely, some of the same cuts CBS-FM uses are used on NJ 101.5 on the weekend. It's interesting that both stations seem to desire the same “sound” for their format… and there's no better place than JAM to get it done!

Those clips were recorded off the web stream. And yes, the Causi cut followed “Ob La Di, Ob La Da”, IIRC.

New Jersey 101.5 has been using their jingles for a while – they're mostly from Priority One and LogoSet, I think. Their music mix has always been a little “younger” than CBS-FM's. Maybe now they should start adding '80s Z100 jingles. :D

But yes, for any station going for that classic sound, JAM is the clear choice, and I'm so glad CBS-FM went back to them.

Nice to hear some PAMS classics in there too (“Stay this weekend where the action is … “)

Remember Bob Shannon some time at the Jersey shore. Before the return.
