Where have all the jingles gone . . . ?This thread got lost in the server swaps and the (extremely rare) bits I contributed wouldn't have any sense without the original montage (which I didn't download) and comments.
Anyone able to help restore the thread?

Sean,
is this the same thread where you were talking about the “247 weather-check” jingle and Jon Wolfert mentioned the name of a store in the states, that the Radio 1 jingle was originally sung for – can you remember the name of the store ?
I`m sure I`ve got that original jingle but probably have it filed under the name of the store !

Yes David – it was the discussion about the 247 weathercheck. I posted the session tape and the original commercial jingle.

I'd thought that the “247” version was done by PAMS towards the mid 1970s, but I've
never yet found a copy of it on any dub of PAMS Radio One packages/composites.Is it “really” PAMS? or does it and its “clone” come from a JAM re-sing of earlier PAMS
stuff, or is it perhaps a very early JAM effortJonathon Wolfert wrote
It's a JAM track. The “247 Weather Check” version was one of our initial audition/presentation cuts. I used those lyrics because I'd heard them on an earlier PAMS cut and assumed they'd want it that way again. They liked our new cut, but wanted it to say “Radio 1” instead. So when we did the first package in 1976 we re-sang the audition cut in the same session.Extreme trivia: The reason you've never heard that cut in any other package is because it's actually part of a JAM commercial track. It was originally done for a clothing store called “Bottoms Up”. I shortened the track and added some keyboards and synth effects to turn it into a weather bed. I'll bet none of you has a copy of the original… but every time I say that, I'm usually proven wrong!

Hi Sean / all
Sorry about the loss of posting. Upsweep found the original and the google cache shows everything we missed because of the move.
FYI the old posts are here until the old server is cancelled: http://70.86.11.186/~jinglema/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?56587
I've look thru and there are no other comments missing as far as I can tell.
Apologies again. No more server moves from now on! Hurrah!
