hi Rob T, thanks..nice to hear those earlier City Gold cuts, i've got these myself but I'm taking about the Radio City Gold 1992ish cuts from the Do it AGain jam pacage such as:-
WCBS version – “101 weather….CBS FM”
R.C.G version “Northwest weather…Radio City Gold”– the above also used by Great Yorkshire Radio at the same time.
WCBS version – “[dj shout] plays your favourite music..on CBS FM”
R.C.G version – “[dj shout] with your favourite music..on Radio City Gold”WCBS version “The station you sing along to..CBS FM”
R.C.G version “The station you sing along to..Radio CIty Gold”..some originality there you see

Thanks Rob T. these bring a smile from ear to ear! Beautifully sung for Great Yorkshire Radio, I remember to this day, having the choice of the City version on 1548 or the Great Yorkshire version of the weather cut, just by a minute adjustment of the AM dial! Sad huh.
Anyways, thanks Rob T. Now I just need to hear the City versions again!
I think the GYR versions were particularly well sung, I wonder if they had extra harmonies added in production – the network certainly had the budget, and was a good sounding station, even though I was listening at about 18 years old

WCOL Columbus has the package. And so does or did KOIA.November 26, 2007 at 6:58 pm #54567sunsetbeach
Beaver205, i just love them because they're so light and jazzy. so well produced arrangements, i.e. brass sectio giving way to an organy interlude, i just love them. they're not trying to be anything but just jingles you can enjoy.
I think they are particularly colourful and as for the vocals…. I've not heard WCOL and KOIA sings, but would be intersted certainly.

MemberIn the same vien, what is your favorite TOH from JAM?
Mine are TOP NEWS AND DO IT AGAIN.
There is so many to choose from!!December 1, 2007 at 6:33 pm #54740sunsetbeach
Difficult one. So many top of the hours you know.
I used to love the mellow Picadilly Gold one “all your favourite songs, Piccadilly Gold – Manchester” and that brassy held note at the end.
And yes, of course, DO IT AGAIN comes tops again. I used to love tuning in to bEACON radiojust to hear that infamous toth do it again cut.I will have to post it in audio form…
December 1, 2007 at 6:34 pm #54741sunsetbeach
Oooh, I do LOVE that Cool Radar weather jingle. Man, don't you just LOVE those Do it agains. I don't think theres any other JAMS I like so much.
Cor, all those shouts. I have no idea who these guys are! But those jam vocalists seem excited about them!

oh yeah! Rob T – thats now my current fave TOTH. although, Rock FM's 1990ish cut, did you know that one, re-worked in 1995 – kind of trendier. I think they kept the old vocals and just remixed them into the new instrumental.
Thanks man!
