Well since i have been a member i don't remember anyone posting these before… so i hope you like.

This will be my last attachment for now. This is during the top 40 in 1995/6 mark goodier tried to play the next song but the cd jammed… and he ended up playing the loop music for a few secs with our talking on it…. i have done my best to do a continued loop… again this i don't think has been posted before i know some people may interested in it… enjoy.

Sorry Nick – no – I tried to listen to every one of the above audio items, but as they are not actual jingle cuts or even partial packages but just old bits of airchecks (often with no actual jingles in them) then I don't quite see what value they might be to Jingle Collectors? :(

Oh my, Wixy's got his grump head on recently, and with yesterdays TV wanting rant he's kind of got me %-6 – But he has a point the primary reason for site is Radio Jingle collecting (from my point of view original clean jingles rather the off-air variety)

so generally not my cup of tea, tho from time to time its nice to catch up on some old radio air check memories :p & sometimes it sparks a lost jingle hunt

Had i known this i wouldnt have bothered… taken me weeks to gather these.

                  Fair enough.

Upsweep – thanks for the comments – I apologise if I seem grumpy – I WAS trying to use cheery emoticons!!!

I do genuinely feel though that in some ways that the Site is losing its direction from, e.g. as you say yourself, original clean jingle cuts (and packages).

TV Theme Tunes and low quality chopped-up old bits of Radio One (often WITHOUT any jingle content) are the 2 primary examples I've chosen of non-jingle-collector content that I feel is diluting the value of the Site, and putting off bone fide Collectors from contributing quality ID JINGLE audio as they have done generously in the past.

There's a genuine interest in those 2 subjects, but they deserve to have their own places for their UK enthusiasts to go and do their thing (as is the situation e.g. in the States). Or there's DigitalSpy – e.g. they have sub-Forum sections especially for Radio nostalgia. airchecks, etc etc (and DS posters can also be extremely rude and unpleasant to others – something that JingleMad members will not indulge in, as we try to offer CONSTRUCTIVE critisism and relevant debate, as I'm trying to do with this topic). :)

“…from time to time its nice to catch up on some old radio air check memories & sometimes it sparks a lost jingle hunt”
THAT is definately a VERY good point – an aircheck thats in context IS very worthwhile!

Nick – I don't in the slightest doubt the effort you put into those audio bits, I commend you for trying – I too have loads of cassettes full of old airchecks and I know the work that aircheck collectors put into their hobby too.

But try to imagine what your potential audience is looking for – if someone walked into Tesco for the very first time and then started trying to tell the whole world that “Tesco sells bottles of milk!!!” – everyone would say “we alteady know, they've always done that, tell us something we don't already know about”.

See where I'm coming from??? :)

Not at all Nick – you were just doing something that you're genuinely interested in, and thats the positive thing – its just getting the hang of the “etiquette” of this particular (and often unusual) hobby that gets a bit strange sometimes!

Positive suggestion – go to the “Search” box on JM – type in the name of any heritage ILR stations (but definately NOT Radio One or Two!) and have a good trawl for downloads available on this Site of classic UK radio ID jingles – I guarantee you'll find loads of excellent jingle cuts, demos, packages and montages that have been uploaded by JM members, that you'll find make entertaining listening!
                        :)

It was good to hear the Christmas1993 jingle
