The station with many a fantastic JAM package over the years has changed.
From Inside Radio:
L.A.'s KBIG-FM re-brands as “104.3 MYfm.”
The Clear Channel hot AC station is positioning itself as an updated hot AC format. VP/programming Michael Martin says it's designed to sit right in the middle of siblings modern AC “Star 98.7” KYSR and AC KOST. The station launches with a “significant” outdoor and on-air promotional campaign and it will run without air personalities.Anyone got any jingles handy?

September 18, 2007 at 5:50 am #32975coolntKBIG had its logo updated in 2005, an apparent change was the emphasis on the dial point. Somehow, it gave a clue of a bigger change in the coming years.
the hot ac format is not surprising. But isn't the new kbig a rhythmic AC station? i think they tried to lean on rhythmic songs, it's obvious however that the station is embracing a “poppy” hot ac based on the first few songs they played.
With the new hot ac sound in LA, myFM deserves a new jingle package. ReelWorld?

September 18, 2007 at 11:45 am #32982bulger23It's a crying shame. Another legend in the can.
As a former peon of Clear Channel (Big Brother as I like to call them), it doesn't surprise me. Here in Atlanta, they've changed everything about the stations in this cluster in the last 18 months, and the ratings show the mistakes. They have a habit of changing things just for the sake of change. And jingles, not likely with this company. Expect all liners and sweepers. Ok, off my soapbox now. But, what of the great Charlie Tuna? Here's a link to his site with his explanation…

This another great Clear Channel move.
NOT!!!!September 19, 2007 at 2:51 am #33011jlehmannKBIG actually started using that logo right before I visited CA in September 2005. I'm not sure how radioinisght missed that (thats probably where you had seen posted that it was a recent change). When they started using that logo, they dropped all jingles, and began calling the station “104-3 K B I G” instead of “K Big 104.”
October 5, 2007 at 5:28 pm #53218DAHR.I.P K-Big 104 I will miss you
Any where on the internet we can listen to the Jingles of K-Big 104?? -
