Trust Bruce to come up with a fresh ad for Jingles
September 3, 2007 at 12:07 am #32491Maya53Very brilliant ad but…..
I don't like any of the Zone's jingle package, especially for the AC format. KS 95's(both versions) and KYKY's sound decent and fits well to the hot AC format but what I have learned from The Jingle Junky is that the company is in the process of producing its new AC package for KQXT. I do not want that package to feature a Dallas sound quality because it is just irritating and in-your-face to listen to them, whether it is a 4, 5, or 7 voice vocal group. I am not a big fan of the new-school Dallas vocal group sound like Zone, take for instance the WRAL-FM package.
For stations pl;aying soft rock, I still prefer the ReelWorld's packages which has the “all-female” group, or some of the newer Jones TM packages, like the “Viking FM” resing for the new KVIL Lite FM and the other package that is used for the Mix 102.9 station in Dallas. Both are sung by female and are not irritating to listen to.
Anyhow, I would like to say to Bruce keep up with the good work, and try not to destroy the station's image when it comes to select the proper vocal group to fit a certain format.

I have a final confirmation on this new package.
September 3, 2007 at 7:04 am #32494mbMemberI think you choice of words / language is slightly unfortunate. There is a debate that has raged for years do you have jingles that sound like the music you play or jingles that stand out with a different sound. I’m of the school that there is no point having identification jingles that blend into everything else because you won’t notice them. On the demo for Viking FM you’ll hear that there are options for female vocals / male vocals or both.
At the moment single voice jingles are more en vogue. I think partly for cost reasons you only need to pay one singer rather than 5 or 7 – it brings the costs down. But even multi tracking up one singer doesn’t give you the same feel as actually having a group. I don’t think the Zone jingles are that “in your face†and I think are a continuation of a traditional Dallas sound with contemporary tracks and writing. You have to remember why some stations choose the sound they do. Reelworld jingles have a very distinctive sound and if other in your market are using them then maybe a programmer wants a distinctive sound. The KEZK jingles are not my favourite but I do like the other packages. Mainly because I don’t like the fit of the letters into the KVIL logo.
Most packages work in various ways with sols or group singers. This tends to be a decision that the stations themselves drive.September 3, 2007 at 8:47 am #32497martinlesterMemberMaya53 wrote:

Regardles if you like them or not the fact is they do work on the stations that they are played on
if you take a listern to the Client Page from Zone you will see that Bruce can produce them in a very WIDE range of vocal stylesfor me a Group Vocal has a more long term appeal that does not wear thin afer only a few weeks of use
September 5, 2007 at 6:03 am #32518bruceupI think all washing machines should have speakers, don't you?
Of all the stations we're currently developing product for, KQXT is not one of them.
September 5, 2007 at 1:02 pm #32526passajouI love the ad. Btw, the Zone´s packages are great!
