I always remember Rod reading the news too. I've found the following in my jingles folder on my computer. I've also just starting copying my tapes to mp3, so hopefully start posting more stuff as i go through my old tapes

Also I think June was always their in joke was it not? It was meant to be “Simon….Diane….Rod….and you” ?? or did I just think it was meant to be You at the end…

Im sure it was june! the nickname for the producer of the show! Who went on to produce Top Of The Pops! Ric Blaxill might have been his real name.

i cant recall peter bowes taking over from rod mckenzie, anyway the jingle in question went like this simon diane rod(not peter) and you the 1 fm breakfast crew, im sure someone on this site will upload that particular cut.

I remember hating this jingle when they first introduced it (because the previous news jingle was such a classic). But hearing it again after all these years, and the extended mix you've done, its superb. Thanks for uploading !!
